Reversed Payments

Sooo I guess this is a common thing reading everyones complaints. I too have been scammed and these people are so crooked and nasty. I too had my car 2011 chevy impala in the 3rd year repossessed after making a payment.Called them afterwards everyone acts rude, inconsiderate and unhelpful. So here we are 5 years later it hit both my credit and husbands credit I mean I was in the 700's Im now rebuilding my credit its hard but heres the kicker...

Im super credit focused now and asked them for a payment history of my entire account (ledger) I worked in accounting so if you can not get an accurate payment question asked. Ask for a complete payment ledger from the time of the loan. I received it today guess what INACCURATE, FRAUD. No explanations. Many almost HALF of my car payments were DEBITED then 2 days later REVERSED I bank with TS Bank a very good bank, so I called an asked for Bridgecrest {Accounting/Chargeoff} department. I spoke to the representative. I told him exactly what I found, he don't know I had already contacted my bank to inquire about where the hell my money went and why its not on my statements. I mentioned to the rep that this is unethical and fraudulent he got so upset and nervous he slipped and said well I CANNOT provide you ANY documentation for this account contact your bank. Thanks now I will dispute it!!

Most of them are ACH reversals and I know why, they are easily debited and credited without the client noticing and allows for bridgecrest to overcharge you for the NSF retuned item fees and the late charge fees on to squeeze more money out of you. They are ROBBING us blind. I got a little fancy with the rep .I asked him so what happened to all these fees and charges I see on this payment ledger associated with all these retuned payments. He hesitated and then said and I repeat it, so anyone who deals with them know what to ask. Who is responsible he said your BANK!! Which is a lie, a bank will have a detailed report which includes a transaction or reversal number attached to that specific item or payment, easily researched because they REVERSED it. I asked him for that number he said oh I cant find it all I have is the receipt number. REALLY?
THEN had the nerve to ask me for a payment on this almost 6year repo.

Many said I should have waited to dispute it. I say HELL NO, my credit score needs to be adjusted NOW not later. I sent and mailed my dispute today asking for VERIFICATION OF DEBT, CERTIFIED with a RETURN receipt. $17 at the local post office. My next step is filing an complaint with the attorney general .

I wont stop they sold me lemon, they overcharged me, they sold it for pennies on the dollar, they kept my belongings, kept my gap insurance check and charged me magic NSF charges, fees. I will not lay down and get screwed again with NO other car company ever this taught me to read everything and ask questions, but they exploit us who just need a car. No more, Please do your research on the consumer laws, and keep fighting to clear this debt or it will haunt you for 7 plus years. Blessings to y'all dont WALK but RUNNNN from this company bridgecrest, drivetime and Caravanna all are crooks.

Worst Experience

I bought this car several years ago because I did not have any credit at the time. I should have known better when there was only one vehicle on the lot to choose from. Several months later, the car was experiencing problems. Since then, I've spent hundreds of dollars on repairs. Bridgecrest is now calling me multiple times a day asking me for past due payments. I've explained to them, the car is breaking down every other month, and I cannot make payments if I am forced to take Uber and Lift to work every day.

The company is now threatening reposession, and telling me that I must pay $8,000.00 by April 2019 or they will take the car and make me pay off the remainder of my loan. Not to mention, at time of purchase this car was worth 3,500.00. At this point the vehicle is only worth $500.00 in parts. So, my credit report is ruined, and now I fear I will be without a car, as well as without money if they continue to garnish my bank account after a reposession. I'm devestated.

Get out quickly

Long story short there thieves.repoed my car took all my belongings out and still need to get back .in the end I got it back wanted me to pay 1900 to get back.i already pay close to 500$for a Toyota Camry 2012 plus total car is like 20,000 + ..smh...Soo Said screw it and went into bankruptcy which was perfect because I have other debts, red light tickets etcetc..but the point is I went into bankruptcy..paid 1200 for everything I owe and to get my car back. So got my car back basically for 1200.thru bankruptcy. not 1900.thru bridgecrest. And I pay 475 a month to cover all things before I went into bankruptcy..plus they took my plates off and didn't want to give them back.. smh at end of the day I'm good mplus if my car is screwed with I'll be back.. so just get a car from drive time and don't pay them go in to bankruptcy whenever you feel like it hide your car..first and then file for bankruptcy plus IM RIPING THE TRACKING DEVICE THEY PUT ON MY CAR.. SHOULD OF DID THAT TGE FIRST DAY I BOUGHT IT..

Unsatisfactory

Hello

My name is Tarajah Atkins and I have a 2013 Ford Fusion through you all well had. My car was repossessed this morning at 5:30 am now let me try and explain without writing a book. I lost my job in January of 2017 but still managed to keep up with my payments. I fell on hard times and my payments started to fall behind but I still was making some type of payment calling in to keep communication open. I was told that I needed to pay $341 by July 7th to avoid repo and I did just that then I was working on another payment I called in on July 28th the rep told me I had to pay $241 by August 8th in order to “qualify” for the deferred program in which I have been told numerous of times that I could not “quality” for it WHY NOT IF ITS THERE TO HELP OUT CUSTOMERS LIKE ME WHO HAS STRUGGLING WITH PAYMENTS any way she never stated that the payment was to actually stop a repossession from happening. I am at the end of my rope with this company I but a do not call on my account because people are nasty and rude when they call me and they call my phone 4-10 times a day (at the time) which is why I put the block in place. Managers supervisors all don’t see anything wrong the reps being rude and down right nasty! I had a interview today guaranteed on the spot hire and because my car was snatched I couldn’t make it.. so thank you bridgecrest bad enough my life was already ruined by having this over priced vehicle with many many recalls on it but at least I had away to get around for myself and my kids..

I reported to the BBB and my next steps are to look into legal actions because this should not be ok.. and I will not stop until a solution is made. It’s time for bridgecrest to own their mistakes and lack of information not to mention their lack in the ability to help out customers when it’s really needed.

Repo nightmare

We bought the car and missed the first payment due to a family emergency. We recieved no notification from them stating the loan was missed or that they were going to repo our car. I figured i would just make a double payment when the next payment rolls around..which was in 2 weeks bc we paid bi-weekly. On the next payment date I made 2 payments, but right after I made my payment my son calls frantically tellimg me our car is missing. I thought it was stolen! No way would they repo the car we weren't even 2 weeks late! Sure enough the car had been repoed..so the next day we call Bridgecrest and they can't help us, all they can do is give us a number to call for the repo people. We have been calling the same number for over 2 weeks and no one will call us back. We asked bridgecrest if we could just make our late payment to get back on track and they say no thats not possible. Meanwhile my husband checks with the lot we got our car and , and guess what...our car is back on the lot, but they have no idea where our stuff is!! The car was cleaned out when they got it! We can not get any answers from anyone about our personal belongings. Its nice to know we arent the only ones. I have never heard of a loan company that wantes to sell cars so quick to want to put them back on the lot. Plus we paid 500 down and that is all lost not. They are a rip off and I will warn everyone I know just what a joke this place is!

terrible company

Drivetime aka Bridgecrest fees are outrageous. Im writing this complaint to warn others not to buy a vehicle from this company. My father in law had his 2007 Chevy Malibu paying 460 a month, paying them on time and right after before he passed a way from cancer they gave us a wrong pay off quotation. he wanted to pay them off but representative said he needs to pay 500 plus in order to pay off the vehicle which made us so upset because we were told that its less than 300 for pay off amount. he was retired and needs to pay other bills so he decided not to pay whole but just half of it. and right after 2 weeks he was gone. so me and my husband paid it off the balance after a week it just suddenly wont start from the store. auto shop said the motor needs to be replaced for 4000 dollars. which we decided not too. sold the vehicle for 300. now our Chevrolet impala 2011 which we bought from them a year and a half after getting the Malibu, paying 420 a month did not work too. the transmission needs to be replaced and when i called them to ask about warranty Bridgecrest says they cant do anything since the mileage is over their warranty limit.transmission replacement from auto shop is about 3000 so we decided to let it go which makes us so upset that they wont do any consideration. we had it voluntary repossessed and their letter says they sold it for 82 dollars but aside from 9092 dollars which we still owe, they added 418 fee for repossessing the vehicle..aside from that through the years of of owning their car we had it to the shop many times....they are truly terrible and wont do nothing to help you out. i dont believe they sold it. i believe they will fix it again and resell the car to make money out from it.

DriveTime/Bridgecrest

Cannot begin to explain how horrible this company is. From the first month that I got my vehicle (over 2 years ago) I've had serious problems. From account issues, to random repossessions, to mechanical issues and a false warranty; I've had it all with Bridgecrest, formerly known as DriveTime. I do NOT recommend purchasing a vehicle from this company. The vehicles are garbage, the account issues are never ending, the interest rate is ridiculously high, and now I'm going through another random repossession issue with them. My account also mysteriously vanished some months back, and now my debt and any payments that they overcharged my account for are gone. Too many issues to list in detail!!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!!

bridgecrest is bad business

I am just going to agree with all those who talk about predatory lending. The interest is so high you have no options for refi. They know your credit ia bad and will basically eat you alive in fees. they need to be taken out of business. [email protected]

Bridgecrest

I have dealt with this company for two years now. At first I had issues with my payments being due before my pay date. After weeks of calling that has been cleared up. My complaint is that I pay $418 per month for a 2009 Honda Fit and only half goes toward the principal while the other half is interest. I have pretty good credit now that I have been working with a credit repair company and want to get from under this company but the negative equity prevents me from trading it in for a new car because the amount owed is too high. You can't pay the loan off early because they don't reduce the interest owed like other company's. This company scams people who have gone through life's problems that cause credit report issues. It is not fair that they make money the way they do off of circumstantial situations in people's lives. They need to be taken out of business. If enough people complain maybe that will happen. If you need a car RUN from this company. It will only he heartaches, headaches, and disappointments.

If a class action suit is started, I want in. You can contact me at [email protected].

Vehicle broke down

I got a vehicle from drive time in May 2016, it is now december 2017 and the vehicle hasn't run since this past march. The people I've had look at it all say I bought the car like this (even though they gave me a report saying it was thoroughly inspected an running properly). I was told drive time doesn't take trade ins, even on their own vehicles, so I would like to know what will happen and how do I go about on a voluntary repo?

Illegal Repo

I just purchased my car and I had 60 day temporary tags and a valid car insurance. Drive won't allow you to drive the vehicle off the lot without valid insurance. Since I lived in a neighboring state, I to change my insurance to reflect my state. According to state law, I had the period of the temporary tags to make the change. Drive time, extended my tags an additional 30 day temporary tags, which the law allows to change my insurance. Five days after my extension, they repossessed my vehicle because I didn't move fast enough for them to get my change of insurance regardless of the state law. They believe they can repo for anything. I had to pay to get my vehicle back and I plan to recover the lost. Shame on Drive Time Bridge Crest, they need to keep their buisness in their home state. They exploit the misfornate and prey on the economic status of the people that patronize their establishment. Even though you might be economically disadvantage doesn't mean you are intellectually ingnorant or stupid. Legal rights will prevail. Go to your states attorney general's office and make a complaint. The more complaints issued and go beyond Bridge Crest customer service will eventually expose them for what they really are. God bless to everyone who has suffered under this predictor.

Illegal Repo

I was in a payment arrangement with Bridgecrest, and my payment was due on October 1. I went to Walmart and made that payment on 9/29, TWO days early. The "payment reminder" came on in the car on October 3, so I called them, and they told me that the payment has not posted yet. Okay, so let's give it another couple of days and I'll call to make sure it posted. Didn't hear another thing, no payment reminder, no phone calls, no nothing......so of course, like anyone else, I assumed it posted. No problem. I had another payment due on October 13, and since I ALWAYS pay it a few days late, I went outside to go up to Walmart to pay it on October 17--and guess what? The car was GONE. I called them and they told me they repo'd my car because that October 1 payment STILL hadn't posted. WHAT??? So I got my receipt out and gave them the confirmation number. They did their little "research" thing on the phone and what do you know--they FOUND that payment. it was entered into the system wrong by the cashier at Walmart (not MY fault, obviously), and it had been sitting there THAT WHOLE TIME "in limbo." So....even though I paid that payment, they still will not give my car OR that payment back. They told me "well, if you would have made that October 1 payment, it wouldn't have been repo'd." I said "I DID MAKE IT." Them: "Well, we didn't know that at the time." YOU DO NOW!!! There were so many things in the car that I was not given an opportunity to retrieve, such as my glasses, my son's college textbooks, gym bags full of things, etc. Now they are just HANGING ON to the issue of me not calling back to see if it posted.....which of course, I am not legally bound to do. That's THEIR job. If you didn't get my money, ####CALL ME.

So I now have a lawyer involved and if they don't want to refund the money or give me my car back (I WILL NOT pay a "repo" fee), then they'll probably wish they had. I'm not going to just drop it. Everyone involved (including Bridgecrest) KNOWS this was an illegal repo.

Debt "missing" after default

Purchased the car September 27, 2016. Made regular payments for 6 months, and also experienced multiple payments taken out then "reversed". There was a family issue and we moved from North Carolina back to West Virginia, registered the vehicle here and made a $1200 payment, I lost my job 2 weeks later, the same day a payment was due. We made the payment knowing we wouldn't be able to make the next one in 2 weeks, we explained that to them. They agreed to a payment arrangement. We made that arrangement on time. Now, here's the tricky part. After we paid the arrangement the money was gone and we were unable to pay for 3 payment dates, all the while maintaining contact with Bridgecrest. I checked my credit report on a whim one day only to find that my "auto loan" section was completely GONE! No collections agency appears to be in control of the debt, I never received a phone call, 10 day notice, or accelerate notice, nothing. The debt/loan, 8 months later, is still not listed on my credit report. I have no idea who to call, email, fax or anything. My account with drive time.com has been deleted and they act like they have NO IDEA what I'm talking about when I ask about the disappearing debt.

Late payment

My name is Craig Saunders, for the last 2 years, I've been fighting with bridgecrest about the payment arangement. I never had this issue untill drivetime change over to them.So i find myself falling back again because my pay period doesnt match there's. The first time this happen i caught myself up to current standing and had multiple conversations with them about getting our pay period on the same day. But yet everytime we talk about it a supervisor was supposed to contact me back. Called back same thing. So i stop calling. But they never fail to call when my payment was late but my days of getting paid is a week after the payment due. So i ended up stop answering the calls. Now to the present day same issue but now I was told I miss two payments back in may of last year. I'm currently trying to get bank statements on that cause i know i paid. Even when I look on the drivetime website where it shows the payment history i see one payment reversal but also see it going thru the next day. So Im trying to get a statement for that from my old bank about that. It's become more of an issue to me because I've been trying to get this issue fix, instead i feel they never help me fix it cause they can charge late fees and make more money out of me..Now my credit score is being hit..

Atuo Pay Scam

After reading your story it gives me some sort of relief. I too had the same experience with withdrawn funds and then placing them back. I was confident that it was either an error on their behalf or my banks only to find out that although it is not listed anywhere on the payment options, it may take up to 2-4 business days for funds to be actually withdrawn from your account. Most companies that allow auto pay or online pay will place a hold on the balance owed until the funds are actually taken by doing so your available balance will be different from your total balance. Well bridge quest is not one of those companies and their policy lead me to unknowingly be a complete payment behind on my car. The customer service is poor and borderline harassment. I thought they where the best rout to go when getting my car but now I surely regret it.
