Sears Kenmore Elite refrigerator compressor went bad

I purchased a sears elite refrigerator from Sears in Bridgeport WV on 12-17-2012 and the compressor went out on 12-12-2019
and have been trying to get hold of some one on the warranty issue . But the phone lines keep kicking you off the line. I have not been able to contact anyone in regards to the manufacture date of refrigerator was on 11-12 and not able to contact anyone on the compressor warranty either !
the 10 year warranty on the LG compressor .

Kenmore Elite, bottom freezer

Nought a Kenmore Elite , bottom freezer ,April 29th, 2016 from Sears. Model #79043. It quite working on December 2021. The certified Sears appliance repairman cost $169.00 to come diagnose the problem and to fix it would cost $691.00 more. He said it needed a new motor. He also said about every 2-3 months it would need something else. I decided not to fix it. Sounds like a money pit. I am a senior citizen and I thought it would be my last refrigerator. Shame on Sears for selling detective refrigerators.

Kenmore Elite Refrigerator

Kenmore Elite refrigerator compressor stopped working. It took 3 weeks to get Sears technician here only to be told two days before Thanksgiving that we would need another appointment date which is Dec 20, 2021 a whole month away. I am so disgusted with the runaround trying to get Sears to understand that this should be their problem and not mine. Had I known that refrigerator had LG parts I would have never purchased. I feel deceived. Never again will I purchase appliances from Sears and they will only be American made going forward. Please add me to class action lawsuit.

Kenmore Elite side by side convertible Ref.

Why is LG and Kenmore Elite even allowed to stay in business with all the complaints. I filed a complaint in the class action lawsuit via registered mail. After having a Kenmore Elite that was involved in the class action lawsuit, why are we not hearing anything.
I had my first Kenmore Elite compressor go out in less than a year. The Refrigerator/freezer was replaced by a kind Sears manager. That Kenmore Elite failed less than a year later. To make a long story short. That second Kenmore Elite failed 4 more times. Sears never stood behind it, LG never stood behind it.
I spent $3400.00 and 500.00 for an extended warranty and the compressors never lasted a year. Why are they being allowed to beat people out of money. This product never worked for a year at a time. The second refrig. didn't even last a year, and it was 4 times with it having to have compressor replaced. It is still sitting in my laundry room. I wish they would come get it, I guess they could sell it to the next gullible customer.

I was told by Kenmore this morning to contact Robert Zajac with BBB. Guess what? His number is not in working order. Imagine that? Everyone is closing their eyes, and continuing to let Kenmore, and LG lie, and take peoples money, then they won't even help you. I would just like to have a working refrigerator after spending $3900.00
Oh, I have purchased another refrigerator, but it sure isn't a KENMORE or LG.

Kenmore Elite side by side convertible Ref.

I purchased lst Kenmore Elite Refrigerator/freezer at the price of $3400.00. That product lasted 11 months, compressor went out. Sears Manager replaced that refrigerator with a new Kenmore Elite Refrigerator/freezer. That one lasted maybe 10 months, compressor went out. After Sears stalled around, food lost, hardwood floors damaged from so many service calls, and pulling it out from wall, another compressor was installed. I purchased extended warranty for $500.00. Two months after extended warranty expired, compressor went out.
I was excited when I saw the class action law suit. Sent all forms required, proof of purchase, registered mail. off the info to the class action law suit. No response from class action law suit, Extremely rude people at Kenmore, I am done with LG and Kenmore. My Kenmore elite is still sitting in my laundry room. Looks pretty, but not worth 2 cents.
My daughter even bought an LG, same product, after my experience, she just trashed it after only 2 years, and purchased another brand.
I purchased another brand, but feel Kenmore, or LG should replace refrigerator. I can give this one back.
I was told by Kenmore to contact Robert Zajae at BBB. Now his phone is not working. Was BBB paid off to not bother with these complaints?

Kenmore Refrigerator 795.72595.710

We purchased a Kenmore refrigerator from Sears in July 2018. On Saturday 8/21/21 we discovered the ice maker was not working. When we opened freezer to get ice from the bucket all of our freezer food was completely thawed out. Later after checking temp with refrigerator thermometer, Refrigerator was at 52 degrees. We had to throw out all our freezer food and try and salvage the little we could from the refrigerator. Hundreds of dollars of food gone (of course right after major back to school food shopping at Costco etc). Call into our local appliance company and they diagnosed the compressor as the problem. Was told to look into class action lawsuits regarding this particular compressor (which unfortunately all have settled at this point) and contact Kenmore regarding the warranty on the compressor. The soonest available appointment for a tech to come out is OCTOBER 6th from Sears/Kenmore! They said the cost of the part would be covered but I would be responsible for the service fee of $169 PLUS LABOR. They estimated labor costs to be $500+. There is no way to go without a refrigerator for over a month and the fact they expect the customer to pay for any of this service is appalling. They knowingly put defective compressors in these refrigerators! Look at the thousands of customers this has effected. Our local company said they are replacing 3-4 of these A WEEK! These refrigerators should be recalled, customers reimbursed for the cost of the fridge or all costs associated with the defective part replacement should be covered (including the labor to put it in). Not to mention they should be compensating for food loss since this was a known issue. They said they will put in an emergency request to hopefully get someone out before the 6th. I’m not going to hold my breath. They will not allow for anyone other than their technicians to do the repair. Our local appliance repair could come out for repair this week but will cost $1200 to fix (labor and cost of part). I asked kenmore to at least ship me the covered part and they said they will email a request to the back office but will take 48-72 hours for a response if they will approve it or not. In the mean time the little food we have left is over here spoiling in the cooler. Most new refrigerators are on back order (will not be buying Kenmore, LG or Samsung) all junk. Nothing available until late October unless I am willing to spend $4000+. Obviously that’s not an option at the moment so I will be paying the $1200 to get it fixed privately through our amazing local appliance company so we can at least have a fridge for our family up and running by the end of the week. Thanks for nothing Sears/Kenmore/LG! Shame on you! Something needs to be done to hold this company accountable. They are purposely screwing their customers with delayed response times and constant run arounds. They know darn well refrigerators are essential and the customers will cave in and be forced to find another solution as many have no other option before they get around to “helping” us. Would love for someone to hold them accountable. Please do something.

Purchased May 19, 2018 for $2,516.43
Worthless: August 7, 2021 - compressor no longer works. We of course just went to Costco and have lost ALL of our food.

Called Sears + Kenmore direct to activate warranty. Representative solely offers a $130 service call 3 weeks out and then they might have to order parts. Requested escalation to Management and was promised a call within an hour. Was 100% ignored, no such call ever came through.

My choices are now to have the issue addressed locally to the tune of $600+ or have my family suffer for 3 weeks during a pandemic with no way to store food in 104 degree heat. My spouse is currently out of work. Neither of these are 'solutions'

Worst company ever. Do NOT purchase, run far far away. I am so incredibly angry right now. HORRIFIC Company.

Kenmore Fridge 795.72595.710

Fridge is less than 4 years old and the compressor is out. Lost over $2k in medicine and $400 in groceries. I had my regular appliance guy come out and he told me about a class action against Sears and LG. He said it's not worth repairing because they put the same bad part in. Sears is not helpful at all. I scheduled a repair and they can't get out to look at it for 5 days.
They will pay for the part but not the service because my exact model wasn't covered in the class action. I've called 3 times and asked to speak to a supervisor. Each time I've been told I will receive a call from a supervisor but no one calls.

It's time to get a class action going for this model number too.

Sears referred to outside repair company. AXIS APPLIANCE REPAIR (DON'T RECOMMEND THEY DELIBERATELY MISLED ME ON EXTENDED WARRATY INFORMATION AND REQUIRED A $300 CASH DEPOSIT TO BE REFUNDED ONCE SEARS HAD SHIPPED THE NEW LG COMPRESSOR TO THEM KNOWING THAT THEY WOULD DO THE REPAIR AND THEM TELL ME NO REPLACEMENT COMPRESSOR WAS COMING FROM SEARS. I found out from Sears after numerous phone calls to various departments that "Service Live" work orders are for appliances without warranty coverage!!!!!!

3rd party stated they were sure my refrigerator had a 5-year warranty but insisted on taking a $300 DEPOSIT until Sears shipped my replacement covered new LG compressor to them.

in meantime they would charge me labor $340 and use new LG compressor they had in stock to repair my unit. first call to Sear's repair was on 5/31/2021 until was purchased on 6-23-18 at a Sears Store in Temecula, California 92591.

Defective Kenmore model 10651753710

We've had a problem with our refrigerator (bought 11/2017) within a year from purchase 8-10 months. First it quit making ice, then the refrigerator side begin to warm up, then the freezer side warmed up and food spoiled. It was still under warranty so i called for a service tech but it took a while to get him here which is why there were spoilage issues, I moved what I could into a chest freezer. The tech found low Freon and pulled a vacuum on it to check for leaks and found no leaks, recharged it. pronounced the fridge healed and left; problem solved right? Not so fast Kemo Sabe

Another 8-10 months same problems, no ice, warm temps on both sides and food spoilage. Another call same tech, he tested it, pulled a vacuum, announced it needed an inline dryer. No he didn't have one on his truck but he would order one. Now we wait for the part to arrive by mail and once it's here we have to scheduled another appointment to have it installed. The dryer was installed, the fridge recharged and lo and behold we had ice... reloaded the refrigerator and sat back. Oh yeah, to get this one repaired I had to purchase a maintenance agreement, this was a good thing...

Another 8-10 months same symptoms another call to Sears Home/Appliance repair; different service tech this time. I needed a new compressor and condenser coil, no he didn't have one on his truck. he'll order a new one, call then when it arrives; about 3-4 weeks later it arrived via USPS 7-10 days the tech come out and installs the new parts. 2 days later I have ice being made.... I am a happy camper.

Repeating myself, Not so fast there, Kemo Sabe. This month again, no ice, both side of the unit warming up, yada, yada, yada. another call to Sears Service, different tech again he shined his little digital thermometer in the refrigerator and the freezer sides declared it wasn't that bad and for $50 above the $75 cost of the service call he would clean out the dust bunnies that was blocking air flow and all would be well that was this past Friday the 18th and we still have no ice being made.

We are going shopping for a new refrigerator, it will not be a Kenmore, if we can help it it will not be any product associated with Sears...wish us luck.

SEARS KENMORE FRIDGE

our fridge is 4 years old, and just like that, compressor died. So we called for service, and it will cost 1,100 for a new compressor along with installation. Spent a whole lot of money on this fridge,and now $1,100 more to fix. Repairman said he thinks a class action suit is cooking, because the compressor is an LG compressor and many people have had all kinds of problems with this product. If this is true, I will submit my name and problem so I can get some compensation. I've been without a fridge for a week now, and have to wait till next week for repair to come back with the new part.

Kenmore Elite Refrigerator Frustration

This is my second refrigerator.. the first one quit after 2 Days!!! Yes, I said 2 days...Lots of fresh food lost.. It has been 3 years and now this one has quit>>> You guessed it, the compressor.. tech says compressor is under warranty, but does not have a true explanation for the $600.00 repair fee??!! Kenmore Elite, with freezer on bottom. $3299.99 was the original cost, but I paid less $2799.99 due to package deal... And guess what?>>This model is no longer available!!!.. This is just a maddening experience all around!! Frustration to the max!.. Getting the run around every time I contacted Kenmore, They seem to push issues on to the net person , getting absolutely no resolution or satisfaction.. LG makes the compressors for the Kenmore Elite..
Cannot believe ALL OF THE COMPLAINTS online, same issues over and over again! DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

Kenmore Elite 790.74025.412

Purchased this frig in April 2019 WITH Master Protection Agreement. Loved it. Dec 18, 2020, it just died. Barely 20 months into ownership. Lost a refrigerator full of holiday prep. Called Sears Service. First appt with Jan 25, 2021. Called a few days later to confirm; we didn't have an appt, though they had a record of our call. Next appt: Feb 4. Service tech came, said the compressor failed, and ordered parts for repair. Next available appt Mar 4. I was called that day and informed that the appt was cancelled because there was a COVID exposure with the technician. Next appt scheduled for Mar 24. No show, no phone call. Called the appt line and complained loud and long. Next available appt was today, April 6 10-2. Got that the appt time was moved to 1:56-3.26 PM. 3:30 arrives, and I checked my appointment to find that it had been rescheduled to April 20, 8-Noon. Once again, no show for the tech, no call to notify. Called and complained loud and long again. The good news is that I WAS compensated for food loss, and was given some compensation to defray the expense of "renting" a refrigerator while awaiting repair, but to be without a refrigerator for 4 mos is completely unacceptable. Do I have any recourse? I want to ditch this and get a new refrig that will work, but we spent $2500 on this monster PLUS the Master Protection Agreement. I am so frustrated.

Bought the refrigerator 995.74023.412 in November of 2016, did not use it till October of 2017 when we moved into our new home. Quit working in August of 2020, spent $950 to repair and quit working just like before...not cooling in Dec. 2020.
Fortunately the repair man fixed it again......praying it sill continue to work.

Kenmore Elite Refrid. 795.7313

Three year old refrigerator's compressor failed due to the known issue. Spoke with warranty department and they informed me that it would be $170 for diagnostic which could then be applied $450 for labor. I figured for $500 would last another 3-5 years and would allowing pricing and selection of pandemic inventory to recovery. When tech arrived he upon visual inspection diagnosed it as compressor (he did not plug it in) and told me the labor cost would be $900. I said no thank you and paid him the $170. Upon leaving he acknowledged even the replacement compressors were junk and that he had personally replaced the compressor in his own refrigerator 3 times and that his wife wanted it out of the house. Upon his departure called my credit card disputing the charge on the basis of unfair active and deceptive practice and had the charge reversed.

I called again and requested they order and ship the component directly to me so that I could install it myself and they said only a technician could place the order.

Not sure who wins the prize for being the worst here - LG, Sears or their Warranty services. All three have lost my business forever.

Kenmore Junk

I bought a Kenmore Elite refrigerator and thought (with a 10 year warranty) that it would be running properly for at least 20+ years, because Mom and Dads refrigerator has been running for 40+ years and it has never had a problem. Boy, I could never been more wrong! 3 years and 6 months later, this thing died. So, I called Sears repair and was told that because I did not have a repair plan with them that I would have to pay for repairs not the parts. OK, that doesn't sound to bad, wrong again. $561.22 later and 6 visits to try to fix this abomination of an appliance it is still not fixed. Other refrigerator repair places know better than to attempt to try and fix what can't be fixed, in other words they won't touch them. So, if you have one of these refrigerators, GOD help you because Sears or Kenmore WON'T.

Elite Kenmore Refrigerator Bottom Freezer

I brought a Kenmore Elite Refrigerator with bottom freezer from Sears in October of 2017 and this October 2020, it stopped working. I called for repairs service to fix it, but when the technician came, he would not touch it because he said and I quote, "these refrigerator are extremely bad with serious defects and cannot be fixed" He left it and told me that it would be better for me to go and get a new refrigerator and a different brand. The refrigerator went bad on a Friday and the service was scheduled for Tuesday of the next week. With hundreds of dollars of food in it, I went out and got me six large bags of ice and a chest to store the food, but by Tuesday all my food started to spoil and by Wednesday, I had to throw them out. This is my first time buying Kenmore and would never, never again. To anyone thinking of buying Kenmore Appliance, take my advise, buy another band because you will end up like many of us who thought we were getting a good reliable appliance.

Kenmore Elite compressor failure

I bought a Kenmore Elite in 2017 not even 1 year later the compressor failed so I called to get it fixed and was told the compressor was covered but the labor would be $500 so got got it fixed because couldn't afford to spend $3000 on a new one.
And now we are here 2 years later and the compressor failed again so this is the second time i had to throw all my food out.
The compressor is a LG part we should be part of the class action lawsuit.

KEMORE ELITE

Purchased fridge in 2014, $3000. Sears repair just left. Compressor under warranty but $600 labor to install. Then as replacing said wouldn't match to the board. Has to order new board. Total cost $975 but can't tell how long will take to get the new board. I feel SCAMMED. Do I throw this $3000 in garbage and go spend another $3000 to get another just like it? Or spend the $1000, wait who knows how long to get this board and just hope it works. I have always bought Kenmore.. NO MORE! BUYERS BEWARE!

Sears Kenmore Elite

We bought model # 795-74092-411 April 2017 and it died September 30, 2020. We have been without a fridge now since then as the Sears Repair people won't be here until the 15th of October. We already paid a repair person $99.00 to tell us that if they fix it, it will cost over $1500.00, but if Sears fixes it, all we have to do is pay $129.88 per hour for them to fix and it will be about a 6 hour fix. So, if they fix the LG part with another one, and it breaks in 3 years, not acceptable!!! I don't want another LG part in my fridge!! If LG has a class action lawsuit against them, how come we can't be included since it is the same damm part braking on theirs too????

Sears Kenmore Elite Refrigerator model 795.74023.411

A few days shy of 5 year purchase, the compressor stopped working. Call Sears service who came within 6 days and replaced the part. No charge for the part but was charged $479 for the labor. Attempted to recoup from labor charges from Sears will no avail. Not to mention hours and hours on the phone, being transferred, disconnected and speaking to non- English speaking representatives who kept reading a script- stating they value me as a customer. I reported this situation to the better Business Bureau in Chicago who were not able to rectify. There was a recently settled LG compressor class action suit (Sept 17, 2020), however when I inquired if the Kenmore Elite would be included in the settlement, I was told "no".
So disappointed. Like many of you I purchased Sears products over the years but will reconsider future purchases.
Is there a class action suit currently for the Kenmore Elite?

Kenmore Elite 795-7316

Same story as above, bought the Ref. on July 2018, stopped making ice and the compressor stopped working and the Kenmore Elite died with almost $400 food on Oct. 2020. Neither LG Company or Sears were any help, it cost me $1600 to replace the Compressor, not sure how long is going to work. Talk about a class action case against both of these large companies who have disappointed so many of their customers and hopping they just go away!
