Unpaid money since 2009

I had some dental work done in 2009. I have tried to get my my back and the previous owner Smile Care has held onto my money close to 4 years. They seriously should pay interest on the amount over $100.00 that they owe me. If I owed them they would charge me interest, so why can't this company pay interest. I'm seriously thinking about suing this Dental office. I understand that Smile Care is now Coast Dental and I really don't care what name they changed to. Smile Care is a rip off and I would never go to this Dental office again. I spoke to the Office Manager there and she had told me that they had a back log for 6 months for sending out refunds. Are you serious? Is this Dental office this terrible where they don't know how to handle the money side of the business. During the year of 2012 I had repeatedly tried to get Smile Care to send me my money and I had even drove down there to the Bakersfield office on Ming street 2 TIMES. Smile Care refuses to send my money because their good at trying to rip people off. Im going to report Smile Care/Coast Dental Office to the BBB, because this is just terrible.

On March 26, 2012 I went in to smile care Bakersfield and was advised I had a refund that had been sitting there for about 4yrs. in the amount of $201.00, which had never been mailed to me. While there I decided on purchasing new dentures at a price of $1700.00 in which I gave them $650.00 down and they were going to credit me for the $201.00 for a total of $851.00 down and a remainding balance of $849.00. During my exam we realised my dentures only needed adjustment, so I decided not to purchase the new dentures and asked for my money back. We are now January 17, 2013 and I am still waiting. on the contrary,I recieved a collection bill for the balance I did not owe! My perfect credit which I worked hard to keep up is now being damaged and (AWA COLLECTION P.O Box 6605 Orange Ca. 92863 714-771-3690 acct. # cy5399) say they cannot lift this untill Smile Care authorizes them to.

Please take care of this , I am a 82 yr. old woman and this has been really stressfull on me. My attorney advised me to follow procedure before taking it any further action. I hope this can be resolve fast, I NEED MY MONEY

Billing Issues

SmileCare is charging me for the full amount of a treatment I had from a contracted dentist they used that was not a provider within my network even though I chose their office to begin with because they are a participating provider within my network. No notification was provider at the time I had treatment that their contracted dentist was not within my network otherwise I would have rescheduled. I am not going to pay because of their staff's negligence to provide this information at the time services were rendered. It wasn't an emergency, it was a follow-up appointment and because of their lack of common sense, I am not paying for their staff's mistakes. The Lake Forest office is also responsible for resubmitting a claim to my insurance company for a treatment I had, that's covered under my insurance. The insurance company requested that they provide additional information. The office is coming to me for the money because they're staff is incompetent at filling out paperwork. I have insurance to cover my services, I think I need insurance to cover idiots who don't know how to do their jobs.
