I got the same email but when I went to the International directory and entered the name of the Law firm, it shows none. It seems to me this is nothing but a scam> If it is not, you wonder how come as a "lawyer, he cannot take his fees out of the proceed and send us the difference. Just so that you know, I have contacted the FBI and they informed me that there is no one that will dispense with $500,000 to unknown individual.

I too have received a similar email, but from watching 20/20 and programs similar I've learned that these are scams. Whenever you are asked to send money in order to receive a larger lump sum, it is a scam.

Then he sent me an email that said I was approved but I needed to send proof of who I was via ID so I did. Now he says that I have to pay $ 400. to $ 700. in order to get the money wired to my bank.
