On February 25, 2015 I rented a car from Shlomo Sixt for the sole purpose of transporting a family that was flying from the United States to Israel in order to bury their father. As I arrived at Ben Gurion Airport, merely 90 minutes after picking up the car, I discovered that one of the tires was completely blown out. I parked the car in the airport parking lot and immediately reported the problem to an agent at the Shlomo Sixt desk inside Terminal 3. No one from Sixt provided any assistance, even after I explained that no one showed me the spare tire and/or any tools necessary to install it when I picked up the car and that the wrench in the car did not fit the bolts on the tire. After waiting more than 2 hours for assistance, the family and I hired taxis to take us to the cemetery (the funeral was scheduled for 1930) and I left the car in the airport parking lot.

The company’s poor service (actually absence of service) despite repeated requests for assistance (each time explaining that I needed to transport the family to a funeral) was compounded by the behavior of some of the agents. Of the approximately a dozen Sixt workers I have dealt with over several days, only two agents, Ofir and Esther, attempted to help me (their efforts apparently were not supported by the company). Most of the other agents I dealt with, who were more senior than the 2 who were trying to help me, were incredibly unprofessional, rude and even hostile. In fact these workers acted as if their seniority entitled them to behave so poorly. Shlomo Sixt clearly has some major personnel problems.

DO NOT RENT FROM SHLOMO SIXT IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A DEPENDABLE AND SAFE CAR.
