Hello,
My Concern is in regard to a Movado's ESQ watch that I bought in November, 2012 from one of an official Company's store in Tulalip, Washington. At the time of purchase the Sales person advised me that the watch was completely Swiss made, and after I did a little research and confirmed it with the Customer service, I was told that this particular watch was assembled in Asian countries, and not in Switzerland. I had been in touch with the Store manager ever since I came to know about this, until recently, my emails have been completely ignored. I need your help in getting this resolved.
Just to make it more easier, I am going to paste the chain trail of correspondence of my interaction with the store manager and the customer service.
Please please helps me, I spent my complete month's salary on this watch and I at least deserve to be serviced properly.
Thanks,
Ankit

Hi Linda,
Point is, that I was lied to at the time of purchase. The only option left with me is to keep the watch since shipping it back to the USA will cost me a fortune, unless you are ready to compensate me with the shipping cost.
I need some kind of compensation here. If you can't help me, I am afraid, I'll have get in touch with someone else who can help me get a satisfactory solution.
Again, Thanks for looking into the personally for me,
~Ankit

Hi Ankit,
Unfortunately, I do not have any resources in India. You may be able to sell the watch to a friend, but if that is not an option, you can ship it back to me, and I will refund you the price of the watch.
Please let me know if that will help,
Best Regards:

Hi Linda,
That is not an option for me at all, I am not sure if I will even come to Seattle this coming year.
This was such a bad idea, and you see, one misleading statement from your sales person has caused so much inconvenience to me.
If I had known this, I wouldn't have spent my entire Salary on a watch which has been assembled in Asian regions.
Are you sure, You cannot do anything else to assist me here?
Any help will be appreciative.
Thanks a lot for your help in advance,
Ankit.

Hello Linda,
Hope you are doing well.
I understand that Movado watches are more expensive than ESQs, but my point is why was I told at the time of purchase that It was Swiss made?
An exchange doesn't even sound like a doable plan for me since I had come on a business trip to Seattle, and bought the watch, I am based out of Bangalore, In India.
I am going to need you to help me here.
Thanks,
Ankit

Good Afternoon Ankit:
Thank you very much for your note. I am sorry about the misunderstanding arising from your purchase of the ESQ watch. ESQ is Movado's entry priced Swiss movement watch. ESQ watches are more affordable because the cases and bracelets are assembled in Asia.
I would be happy to exchange your ESQ watch toward a Movado next time you are here. The ESQ must be in "new" condition, and I will credit the price you paid for the ESQ towards your Movado selection. It is very likely that the Movado you choose will be more expensive.
Please let me know when you will be back,
Best Regards

Hello Linda,
Thanks for the welcome, I am writing to you because I have gotten misled when I bought this watch at your store.
This is certainly frustrating because all of my family has been a loyal customer to Movado for a few decades now.
Anyways, When I bought this watch, I was advised that the watch is completely Swiss made, not just the movement, and now after I did some research and confirmed with customer service, I have come to know that the watch isn't completely Swiss made.
It seems that I have been completely misled, because if that was the case, I wouldn't have bought the watch at the first place.
I am really disappointed with this, and will want you to help me out, because I am not fine with this at all.
Thanks in advance,
Ankit

Then you need to contact the Movado Company Store where you purchased your timepiece and speak to the Manager.

Hello,
Well, that's bad, because I was told that this watch was completely Swiss made. Isnt that statement misleading??
I only bought the watch because of that reason, I definitely not wanted to buy it otherwise.
What I am I supposed to do with it now?
That isn't a good experience at all.
Ankit.

The movements for our ESQ timepieces are made in Switzerland; however other components such as bracelets on some models are made in Asia, places such as Hong Kong.
If it is marked SWISS MADE it means that the movement is made and assembled in Switzerland, and the watches final assembly and QC are performed in Switzerland.
If it is marked SWISS or SWISS QUARTZ it means that the movement is Swiss or Swiss parts. The final assembly or QC could be performed elsewhere.
Best regards,
Customer Service

I understand the movement part, but does it mean that the watch was made somewhere else?? Is it just the movement which is made is Switzerland?
Thanks,
Ankit

Dear Valued Customer:
Thank you for your inquiry.
We are sorry that our Movado Company Store was unable to assist you with your question. Swiss movement, whether it is quartz or automatic means that the movement was made in Switzerland.
Best regards,

Hello!
I have recently purchased an "ESQ Movado Men's 7301334 Bracer Black Silicon Strap Black Dial Watch" from one of your company's store and I was hoping to clarify, what does Swiss quartz chronograph movement mean, does it mean that my watch isn't Swiss made, because in all the Swiss made watches it's generally clearly written that they are "Swiss Made"
Your answer will be appreciative.
Thanks,
Ankit
