If a class action is ever done, I'm on board. Testimony, etc. The works. Executives and doctors are amongst my references. It's bad enough to be male in childcare. It's worse when Care.com has a virtual monopoly in your area, no qualms about slandering their users whether through these odd termination letters or through inaccurate response reporting, and no interest in giving any of us, caregiver or parent, a chance to explain whatever account oddity has arisen.

What it reveals to me is a company that doesn't care about any greater good. They terminate over anything because, I feel it is safe to assume, it's easier and cheaper. A means to dispute or correct would be an expense, and Care.com isn't interested in getting things right. My account was inexplicably terminated this morning after no exchange that would appear to lend itself to the result. I'm dumbfounded to say the least. I've been a member for over 5 1/2 years, great references, etc.

All of that now gone. My livelihood now put at risk. For what? For all we know, a clerical mistake.

A little over a year ago, I opened a Care.com profile to help me find Nanny jobs in the area I live. I recently found a job through it and have overall been happy with the site. That is, I WAS happy until today. Yesterday, I was unable to log into my account. The site wasn't recognizing my email address, it said. I figured it was a technical error and decided to hold off trying again. I tried to log in again today, and again, nothing. So I called their hotline and after much maneuvering to even get to talk to a person (it's hidden away), I finally got to talk to someone. It turns out that my account was terminated and not only was I not given a reason (although I received a generic and unhelpful form letter that I've attached), but I was told I would not be able to make a new account. I violated zero rules under their terms of service and my personal behavior has been nothing but absolutely professional as my employers would be able to confirm. I will be telling every person I know how awful a site this is and how sketchy their practices are. I may even consult legal counsel since this is obviously infringing on my ability to find employment.
