I was a member of Club Metro gym and they're associated with ABC Financial Services. Club Metro closed without any notification to their members but was still charging everyone. I didn't know because I hadn't been going and was speaking to a friend about having to cancel my membership when they told me and I went to go check out the location and saw that the doors were shut. I contacted the location through their webpage, contact us section and never received a response and I contacted the overall Club Metro page and ABC Financial and didn't receive a response back from them either. I was asking how to cancel my membership due to the location closing and nothing...just silence. Luckily people posted on Yelp on how to go about canceling my membership which I did by sending certified mail with confirmation of receiving it to my branch, the franchising office and ABC Financial as well. I asked them to send me a letter or email confirming my cancellation which they did not and I know they received my cancellation letter since they signed for it. Under FAQs on how to cancel they direct you to go to your agreement but the instructions tell you to mail a certified letter to your gym location but how can you when they shut the doors and no one is there to sign for it? It's a total scam. And as an alternative they tell you to go to the websites contact us tab but no one responds and you don't get confirmation that they received it so it's your word against theirs when you try to dispute a charge. I think action needs to be taken against them. Apparently someone posted on Yelp about a lawsuit. I might have to look into that if this company and it's subsidiaries think it's okay to operate a business this way.

I am a migrants high school student. I don't understand too much English. When I opened the membership in "Club Metro USA", the blond hair lady told me that if I want to cancel the membership, just tell her before thirty days. So I told the worker who worked at Club Metro, they told me to call 888-827-9262. Then the person on the phone, she told me I have to send a letter to P.o. Box 6800 Sherwood AR 72124. I am so angry and sad, because I don't have many time to go to the gum and also, I don't have a job to support this work out! Also, I realize this company is a trickster, because they hang out a big board at the roadside. It said "19.99 dollar per month“. But actually they charge me 29.99 !!!! And the first mouth I paid $59.98 and $10 for the initiation fee!

Same complaint. Cancelled with gym. Mailed, emailed and called ABC. ABC will not stop charging my credit card. This company needs to be sued!
