Auto membership
I purchased school shoes and inserts that were specified by my daughter's physician at Road Runner sports. Now I am being charged $69.95 for a membership to a program I didn't register for.
Now I am super pissed at both road runner sports and active. Done shopping there if they are selling my credit card info.

Active Advantage unauthorized charges
I used reserve america to reserve my campsite. I received an email from Active Advantage saying i have a free 30 day trial but if I didn't cancel before 30 days that I would be charged $69.95. I never even opted to try it out. They are attaching themselves to your credit card through third party sources!!! Do not discount emails from them. Call them and cancel your trials!! There are hundreds of complaint boards mostly in CA for this company.

Active Advantage
I received an email this morning that our bank account had been charged $69.95 for a membership in Active Advantage which I have never heard of before this morning. I then checked our bank account and sure enough, they charged our account! Being Saturday our bank is not open. I must wait until Monday morning to take care of this, if we can. I believe they got a hold of our bank debit card through Reserve America when making State Park RV reservations. I did call this scam organization, Active Advantage, and they said they would take it off our bank account. I do not trust them. They are dishonest. Be very careful if you make a reservation with Reserve America.

Billed without authorization!!!
I registered my 15 year old daughter for a race last month. I used HER email address so she would receive the ticket directly. Today i see a $69.95 charge on my account from a company's name I didn't even recognize. After much online research and a check of her email, I see they automatically signed us up for a membership after a "30 day trial" that we never authorized. COMPLETE SCAM. I will NEVER purchase a ticket for an event with this company name attached to it.

Still at it!
I saw an unknown charge on my card today from Active Advantage. Then I realised I had received and email saying that had continued my membership - which I had never signed up for. I don't even know who Active Advantage are! So I decided to look back at my statement from last February and sure enough there was a charge from Active Advantage which again I never signed up for. I called to complain and they said they will refund the recent charge but not last years as it is too late. I have requested further action and I will not stop until they refund both lots of $50. This is appalling.

Unauthorized Magazine Subscriptions
After contacting my bank about an unauthorized charge on my debit card, I learned that Active signed me up for subscriptions with the debit card used to register for a road race and charged my card for $132. I spoke with their customer service department and hard the charge removed. They seem to expect the phone call from those of us who were scammed and immediately refunded my money. I won't register for another race using this system.

Sneaky Charges
Here I sit this morning enjoying a cup of coffee on a suuny Monday when I check my email and find that this "company" charged my credit card. Me and my Hubby did a race a year ago and now they come at me for "membership" fees. So since we can't get a hold of anyone real going through the bank to contest charges, get new cards and N.E.V.E.R. Participate in a race where this "company" is associated in any way. I should be lucky one lady was charged over $500.00 by these guys and could only get a guy who claimed he was in London. Me I get no one to answer a phone. BBB and A.G. Office in AZ and TX next websites for complaints.

Yet Another Victim
I too have become a victim of the Active Advantage scam. I noticed the charge on my card and thought, "I haven't even used active.com recently. My card must be compromised." I went back into my emails (unfortunately I get a lot of junk mail) and found a race registration email with active.com from a year prior. No where in the email for the event I signed up for does it indicate I signed up for this program so I googled it and found page upon page of complaint and rip off websites. I called the number for active.com and spoke to the rudest representative who told me I need to read better because I signed up for it. I asked for her manager and she hung up on me. I called back and the next person was nice but I still wanted to speak to a manager. They had no problem issuing the refund and said they would speak to the representative who hung on me but it was a terrible experience. I told them about all of the scam websites and he said it is not their intention to deceive anyone. Oh really? I find that hard to believe seeing as nothing has been done on active.com's part to stop this. There are complaints dating back to 2010. It's been 5 years! This is insane. I am waiting for my refund to go through and I hope it does. If I have to call back, I am going to lose it. I don't care what races use active.com in the future, I will not be signing up for those.

I just changed banks and, therefore, credit cards and had this charge of $64.95 for an "Active Advantage" membership come in to the old bank. I had never even heard of them. When I looked them up on the web, however, they had an entire section explaining the $64.95 charge on their information page.
Moreover, when I called the company to complain about being ripped off and to inquire about which sports related organization they got my info from, one of their 3 choices for the caller related to the 64.95 membership fee. And when I pressed the number for that selection I waited for some 35 minutes before hanging up. So . . . I am certainly not the only one getting deceived here. BTW, the whole time I was waiting they ran messages detailing the advantages of the membership I had unknowingly signed up for. They're actually using their complaint line as a marketing tool!

$513 charges over two months for magazines and can't stop them
Active.com is a total scam. I just discovered they hit me up with $513 of charges for two months. After researching with Bank of America, I uncovred that they are changing there name. I tried to switch to a new card and they came in with a different merchant name. Come to find out when I sign up for Plano Parks and recreation they hit me with charges. I called them in Jan, stopped all subscriptions, then they said they woudl refund. I can't figure out how when I sign-up for a class, I am ever authorizing more magazines and charges. I think they took meo for a large amount of money going back for some time and need to research this further. I think they are doign this behind the scenes every time i sign up for classes at Plano Parks and recretion. I am goign to get behind this one quikcly to save others from the same scam. I may get 3-4 magazines a month but no one in there right mind would pay $513 for these over two months would they ? On top of the fact, I never consented to this much of a charge.

Active Advantage Trial Membership Scam
Just happened to me! Just saw a transaction titled "ACT*Registration" for $59.95 and when I googled it I found this page thankfully! I wouldn't have known what it was otherwise! I haven't ran a race, or hence used the website, in over two years!
I can't believe they have my credit card info on file (I don't remember agreeing to that since I usually make sure not to store my info on these sites) and they kept it for so long! Money is tight for me right now and if I hadn't of noticed a check would've bounced! This is a scam!!!
But when I called they didn't fight me on this at all which makes me think it happens all the time.

Active Advantage Trial Membership Scam
Just happened to me! Found an "ACT*Registration" transaction for $59.95 on my bank statement. When I googled it thankfully I found this site because otherwise I would not have known what it was! I haven't ran a race, or hence used the site, in over two years!
I can't believe they kept my card information (which I don't remember agreeing to because I usually make sure not to store that info on websites) for so long! And just randomly charged me!
I called and they didn't fight me on it AT ALL which seems atypical when you ask for a refund. This makes me think it happens all the time.. such a scam!
