activitysuperstore
The website doesnt warn you how much advanced notice the activities selected required before you validate your experience. Once you validate it you find that selected experience requires 6 weeks notice which takes you past your sell by date. You then have to either give up and loose money, pay £20 extra or try and exchange experience for another which doesnt require a 6 weeks notice in the acutal booking. Its all designed by the company to increase the likelyhood of buying the voucher and then not actually using it. I would not recomend this company at all. On the website you cant find all the details before you select something. Looks good on paper but venues are normally miles away so you have to select one you dont really want anyway.

Feel I was misled, even conned
This company do not know the meaning of customer service. I was bought the Perfect Photoshoot by my daughter so I could have a photo of the family before she goes away to uni. There were six venues listed in the booklet in Somerset - two within a 10 minute drive. When I came to validate the voucher I checked the venues, and it said "Barrett and Coe outlets nationwide", without listing the actual locations. On looking on Google, it said there was an outlet in Taunton, where we live. I therefore validated the voucher. When I rang Barrett and Coe to book, I was told NONE of the outlets in Somerset were participating in the scheme any longer, and as we would have more than an hour's travel time, I should be eligible for an alternative experience or my money back. On contacting Activity Superstore they said I was only eligible for an exchange not a refund, as the voucher had been validated. a) I only validated it as it appeared there were two locations near us (from the booklet and Google, as no full list was provided by Activity Superstore before validation), and b) I didn't want another experience, as it was purchased for a specific purpose and I have no need/desire for another experience. Despite many explanations and pleas, I kept getting standard responses and generic e-mails from Activity Superstore - each time after a delay of several days. I would never buy one of these experiences again. It has certainly been "an experience" for me. A bad one, never to be repeated.

Borders fraud seriously
Purchased a two night getaway for £149.99 contacted a hotel to upgrade our room to be told because activity superstore only pay the hotel £50 for redeeming the voucher this is all they can subtract from a better room booking (so i payed £150 for a voucher worth £50 to the hotel) spoke to customer services who told me the voucher is non refundable if activated ( but u need to activate it to see the hotels) word of advice use the cash to purchase something DONT use these guys they are a proper rip off, just google them, there’s plenty of reviews just like mine out there! The fact argos associate themselves with this bunch of thieves only goes to show how argos see there customers, cashing in on selling people low grade items for the highest price

Activity Superstore - fraudsters?
Activity Superstore
Do NOT even think of using this company.
They do not honour their worthless promises and many, apparent, companies providing events etc do not know anything about it - they have never agreed to participate. We are aware of one provider who is taking legal action against them.
We have been unable to find anything suitable within the, very short, timescale they stipulate - which in itself, is dubious legally and part of the scam.
Talk to Trading Standards and the Police.

Activity Superstore Incompetence
I would definitely not recommend this Company to anyone. Our initial voucher the hotel had never heard of them and it was the only hotel within travelling distance to enable us to use the High Tea part of the voucher. We had to pay extra to be able to use our voucher in Scotland and then the hotel we picked had never heard of them. They also sent our voucher to the wrong address in England although we live in Scotland and it took my numerous emails and 5 phone calls at my expense, all with different members of staff (having to constantly repeat myself) before we got the upgraded voucher. "They do not do compensation" - their words - but offered my pregnant niece who bought this in good faith for our Christmas present, a gym day for 2 or family portrait as a "good will gesture". It has taken 40 days to get this sorted.

terrible company!
So firstly I would like to say I have not had my experience!
my husband bought me a couples mega choice on the 6th June 2014.
he bought it from Argos for 99.99 GBP,
I was so excited I looked at all the options and finally decided on a couples spa day, I filled out the form and sent it off (by this time it was August), I presumed id hear back and that the voucher would last about a year (like others i have had) and I got on with life and forgot about it.I have recently found it again and realised that I didn't hear back from them so thought id give them a call and find out what happened.
unfortunately when I called they couldn't find any record of it on they're system after being placed on hold multiple times and the nice gent talking to his supervisor I got told that as they have no record of receiving it and it would be out of date by now there is nothing that they can do. As you can imagine I was annoyed and he offered to let me speak to his supervisor-which of course I wanted.
When I got through to the lady she basically told me the voucher I had expired on 1st Dec 2014 so only lasted 6 months less 5 days and there was nothing they could/were prepared to do for me. After pushing the point that the information pack is ill designed as all the information you need to know is on the voucher that you send off-so unless you have the hindsight to write down the expiry date, the date you send it off and how long it should take before you hear back and then be on top of them as soon as you don't hear-she then offered me 10% off a activity superstore purchase, to which I informed her that 10% off of the 99.99 was ridiculous and from this experience I wouldn't waste my money on them again!
After reading other reviews it has become clear that ALOT of customers voucher's have gotten 'lost' in the post it seems to be an ongoing problem. I would definitely not recommend this to anybody in fact i will be telling people NOT to use this company.

I have been robbed!
I bought my husband a £89 wine tasting with lunch for two gift experience for his 50th birthday in May 2015 When we came to book the day, and having to do the actual booking yourself, we contacted the vinyard but they had no published dates for 2015 yet, so we waited and waited. I opened the package to get the details again now that the summer holidays are here, only to find that the voucher expired on 1 May 2015. I tried too get it extended by visiting their website but you can only extend vouchers if you do it within 28 days of it expiring, and I was just over 2 months past the expiry date. I telephoned to plead with them to please honour the money I had paid for my husband's present, but they said it was there policy and could not be changed. I asked who had actually received my money - them, or the vinyard (thinking the vinyard might have more respect for their customers and might let us enjoy our experience seeing as it had been paid for but they emailed back to say it was regretful but their policy was their policy and could not be changed. Why? Why have a year's limit on using a voucher? It is a vinyard operating during certain summer months, not in the winter. Why do some experience days sellers offer two years limits on their vouchers, and others one year? Why must I sit back and see my husband's present wasted and gone simply because a company has a 'policy'? If the company can extend its vouchers if £20 is paid within a month of the voucher expiring, why on earth can it mot be extended if that fee is paid - whenever the voucher expirered - the initial payment for the experience has been paid and is sitting in someone's bank account earning interest - why can we not have the gift that I paid £89 for? I am very angry and feel I have no choice but to seek recourse through consumer rights groups and trading standards. What should have been a pleasurable experience sitting down to orgaise a romantic lunch and wine tasting with my husband has turned out to me feeling like I hae been robbed blind - for the sake of a company policy (which in fact is flexible because it allows extensions to vouchers if additional money is paid for a period after the expiry date).
