Battery Refund
I took my car to Advanced Auto in Niles, Ohio because I believed that the battery was going dead. The clerk sold me a new battery without first testing the battery in the car or even offering to test it and when the car still would not start, it was decided that the problem was not the battery. I then had her test my original battery and it was found to be quite functional. She then refused to refund me for the battery even though she admitted that the old battery would have been fine. I ended up having to get the car towed and it was determined that it was the starter.
I checked the Advanced Auto web page for returns and while it did say that there were no refunds on 'electric parts', it also displayed a lengthy list of parts that would NOT be refundable and batteries were not on the list. It also said that the store reserved the right to allow exceptions at their discretion.
I really feel that had the attendant checked my original battery,I would not be out $150 for a battery that I don't need. The needs of the customer were not met and now I have to pay for her negligence. She was very nice, but refused to consider a refund.
