Poor Communication, Customer Service
I have been an AFLAC policy holder since 2013. I'm a single parent & had my 2 sons on the policy. This Fall I submitted a claim for my oldest Son who is 27. I received a letter stating he is no longer covered because the dependent policy stops at age 26. I was unaware of this so I contacted AFLAC to take my youngest son off the policy because he was 26 in August. When I spoke to the representative, she told me I needed to complete a "request for change" form. After the form was received I would be credited the cost for my son's coverage as of August. I was told that " it was a flat rate for both children & the policy is ineffective when the child became 26 .After faxing & mailing the form 3 weeks ago, I called AFLAC today because I didn't see any credit to my account. The representative told me that I needed to send a copy of my Son's Drivers license or birth certificate. I was very upset about this because I work for a large health care company & felt I was miss informed. For the fact " why didn't Aflac notifiy me? My address & E-mail were on the "request for change form". All I heard from today's representative was 'I'm sorry". Of course AFLAC knew my oldest was 27 & wasn;t going to pay the claim. so what's the different with my other Son, "if I filed a claim"? I wasn't going to run around to track down my 26 yr old to get his driver's license. so I canceled my entire policy.I feel AFLAC was going to get every last cent from me, all long as they can.
