I called in a problem about a dryer purchased from Lowe's through their (Lowe's) extended warranty and discovered that Lowe's has a contract with Alabama Power Company to service there warranties. My dryer was not working and I followed the procedures to ensure that the problem was not lint. After my discussion with Lowe's Warranty Department, Alabama Power Client Care contacted me and informed me that they would be sending out a service representative to proved service on the dryer. The rep stated that if there was not a problem, Alabama Power would charge me $93.45 for the service call. I asked the rep to walk me through the check points again with lint problems as I did not want to billed for something when no problem exist. The representative walked me through the process and I told her everywhere there was any lint present. On the exist point outside of the house, I told her that there was some dried lint (only a small amount that was not interfering with the air flow) and we ended the call with a service person scheduled to come out. As soon as the service representative came out to the house, I informed him that the dryer was not drying. He checked the hose and the lint trap. He when went outside the house and opened the flap on the exist point. He removed his knife and scraped off the small amount of link that was dried on the exist point. He told him that prior to his coming, the client care representative had walk through the process with me and I mentioned the dried lint that he has just removed. He told me that if the diameter changes (I believe 1/5 cm) then there is a sensor o n the dryer that will send a message to the heat element to shut off to prevent fire??? I am over 50 years old and new technology is constantly changing. The service technician knew this fact and has seen this happen repeatedly yet the client care specialist did not suggest that I remove the lint from the exist point to see if this would solve the problem. Consumer Beware. Corporations are in the business of making money and integrity is not a part of the job description.

They come on your property unannounced cut your power off don't give a damn if you are disabled, on medication or have small children. They will cut your power off even if you pay the past due bill and without warning all for a 50.00 reconnection fee. I pray they don't cut somebodies power off who is on oxygen and they die from thier souless asses.

I live in a small 3 bedroom house with my siblings. We all go to school and work at lease 30 hours a week. Therefore, we are barely at the house yet our bill is ALWAYS between $275-$335 each month. On September, most of October, April, and May the AC and Heater are not used at all. I don't know what to do, if someone can help I would greatly appreciate it. God knows that I have to work another part time job just to cover that bill cost.

My Name is Heather Hathcock I have lived in Tallassee for 18 years but at this house I am in now for five years, And on March 29, 2014 the power Company decide to cut of my power service well that is fine I was one month late on my bill. So I call them when I get home from work and see how much it would be to get it back on, They tell me that my bill is 1972.31 I was on budget billing they said I have to pay the diffrence of all the months I was on it and that they closed my account. There was no since for them to close my account knowing I was going to get it right back on. So they tell me that my box has been tampered with and I have to get a new meter head replaced. I had the city of Tallassee building offical and head electriction come out to my house and look at it and they told me that there was only 3 things i needed to do to bring it up to code. So I have an master electriction come out to check my box he also said that nothing had been tampered with in the wiring and he can not see why they would do this. So he went to the power Company told them that he is going to do what the city said and bring it up to code and if the power company will not turn my power back on I WILL BE GOING TO ALL THE MEDIA CHANNELS AND TALKING TO THEM ABOUT THIS SITUTION I AM A MOTHER OF THREE KIDS AND I AM WORKING AS HARD AS I CAN AS IT IS MAYBE ID THEY WOULD NOT RAISE THE POWER BILL FROM 150.00 A MONT TO 400.00 THAT IS REDUCLIOUS YOU JUST WANT PEOPLE NOT TO PAY SO YALL CAN COLLECT ALL THIS MONEY. THIS IS VERY HEARTLESS AND NEEDS SOMETHING DONE ABOUT IT AND IF I AM THE ONE TO STAND FOR ALL OF US WORKING MOTHERS I WILL.
