No announcement of flight

I had a flight to Springfield, Il out of Punta Gorda, Fl. The flight was delayed two hours. I was waiting on the flight and the next thing I knew a plane was backing from the gate. IT WAS MY FLIGHT> There was no announcement made as to the boarding. I was not sitting in front of the gate but an announcement should be able to be heard all over the small airport. I missed my flight. I had a rental car in Springfield so I missed that also. I was given a number to call to see about a refund and have been on hold for 28 minutes.
If the service is so bad in Punta Gorda, Fl. They should hire people who have the expertise to do the job. Please help me in getting my money back.

Flight 994

Hello,

I travelled with Allegiant for the first time this past Sunday. What an absolute miserable experience! My family waited over five hours passed our original flight time at the Punta Gorda airport before we took off for Pittsburgh. As I walked around our “holding tank” during the five hours it was easy to overhear the “Never Again!” comments coming from the mouths of many families going through the same experience as us. The communication was few and far between from our boarding gate….and most of the time vague and inaccurate. At one time an update was given to let us know “we’d be getting an update in about a half an hour!” Are you kidding me? Two planes were out of commission near our gate and we were told we have to swap planes “because of engine trouble…” Now there is a confidence booster for boarding passengers! Not only that but the announcements were amateurish and misleading (lots of aside conversations while still being mic’d up). False update after update followed and the frustration built in a crescendo for the 150-225 passengers.

Finally, we were herded over to another gate to board “our” plane with little notice so we were all single file and totally unorganized. I got to the plane after helping an elderly lady with her suitcase up the long plane ramp (no employee offered assistance in any way) and fighting my way to get to the back of the plane to help her store her bag overhead. Went to use the lavatory in the back of the plane and was told not to come out by the back flight attendant as she pushed the folding door back in my face (twice). After forcing my way out, I told her how unhappy everyone was with the whole Allegiant experience and she said I can have you talk to the pilot if you are that unhappy. Not sure that was really the answer an unhappy customer wants to hear. Then I as waited patiently going against the flow to my seat I could hear the flight attendant talking to other passengers about me belittling my right to air my grievances to her. Before I knew it, a male flight attendant (Greg) singled me out in my seat and warned me not to use “that type of verbiage” again. I didn’t use any offensive language in my rightful complaints to her!!!! Finally, we take off and as we start our ascension the plane erupts into mock applause. Does that tell you anything? Allegiant now has an ambassador spreading the word about the experience my family had at every opportunity I can find. And I can assure you I will do everything I can to get the word out to as many people that want to listen. Come to think of it, there most likely are two hundred other people with the same message…
