Service Delivery

? My complaint is with regards to the dissatisfaction of service received from Antz Pest Control. After numerous phone calls, and broken promises, the last straw was today, when, I phoned yet again to follow up, and after threatening to report Davy from Antz Pest Control to the National Consumer Board, Davy said that I should “do what I need to do”… I have decided that I obviously need to go via another route to let everyone know about this liar and thief.

Attached is the invoice that Davey had given us.

Below is a timeline of events;
I have contacted my service provider for a copy of my itemized billing to confirm how many times both my husband and I have contacted him, begged him to come out and finish the job properly- I will forward once I have receipt of the same!

1. I had got his details after much research, and he was the available consultant that serviced my area. I am not sure of exact date of contacting him, though, I do know, that he did not take long to come home to do the job and get paid for it cash after he finished. His quote was as follows:
- 2 bedroom complex unit R800
- 3 bedroom complex unit R1000
- 3 bedroom house R1200 (includes full internal, perimeter and fence treatment + 1 x FREE follow-up)
- Bigger house R1500 (includes full internal, perimeter and fence treatment + 1 x FREE follow-up)
We obviously qualified for 3 bedroom house R1200 (includes full internal, perimeter and fence treatment + 1 x FREE follow-up)

2. Attached is an invoice for 16 July 2013, that he had come through my house to render services in getting rid of ants (see attached invoice for the break-down of services rendered).

3. 3 days later my husband had phoned him to convey that whatever he did, did not work… hence, he should come back and redo. Davey had promised to come through and make good. He did advise that we should wait 2 weeks though before phoning him.

4. 4 confirmed appointments later ranging between 31st July 2013 to October 3rd, my husband had been in contact with Davey on when he could come through…to no avail…

5. On Monday, 7th October 2013, I had enough, and phoned Davy at 8:51am. He apologized that the situation had to come to me having to call him, and advised me that he had stock issues. He was very nice in explaining about his issues from the supplier etc. He thereafter proceeded to explain that the entire industry had problems with stock for one of the products that he had used, and that he had used a derivative item. He then promised that he would come out on that day or the next day, as my husband was away on business and nobody would be able to open the house for him from 9th to 11th October. On Monday afternoon, I followed-up with him, he said that the weather was bad and that he couldn’t come out, he will go out tomorrow.

6. On Tuesday, 8th October 2013, I followed up with him early am on speaker phone while I was driving to work, if he had made arrangements with my husband. I explained that we could not be held ransom for an appointment that is 2 months overdue, due to our work schedules… guess what? This man STILL did not even phone or pitch up. I obviously left it for the rest of the week, due to my husband being away.

7. Today, Monday 14th, I phone him(6:54am) and ask him, why he did not phone or come through, but due to the compulsive lying of this man, I did not want to hear any more excuses, I advised him, that to be fair, I need to tell him that if he does not come through, it is my right to contact the national consumer board- of which he replied “I must do , what I need to do”… I explained to him that I have a baby at home and it is not healthy to have all these ants around, and re-iterated that we had paid him for services (eradicating the ants) was not done properly/incomplete. He then proceeded to tell me that as long as he is concerned, he went out there last week!??? I do not like people who lie!- my re-action was “how in the world could he have gone to our house if none of us was there??? “ “where is the proof that you went out?” Out of frustration in hearing this man’s compulsive lies, I cut the call. I don’t want to hear anymore empty promises and lies! I also think that maybe, he is not the “sharpest tool in the shed” for lying like that- how did he think I would not catch him out?

I have decided to cut my losses with this scumbag who took my money but used inferior products, as he confessed last week Monday! I have however, made it my duty to let everyone to know, not to get caught out like this- by this lying, thieving scumbag! Always make sure that the invoice received includes proper business details; landline, address, email address and logo. Service delivery is shocking!-even small businesses rip people off- people be careful!!

BAD Service Delivery
