Locked in Store
My Grand Daughter (whom was 10 at the time) and myself were locked in the Taylor Store on St Patty's Day 2018. We were in the massage chairs and next thing we knew the lights were going off. We shouted and our voices echoed through the store :"HELLO WE'RE STILL IN HERE" but it was to late. My Grand daughter was terrified. She started to cry. I grabbed her arm and went hobbling (problem with my knees) to the entrance and it was locked. We checked by the employee door and yelled "Hello" still no response. Went back to the entrance and called police. Thank GOD My Grand Daughter brought in her cell phone. The Police told me to try and pull the automatic doors apart. They were really hard to push open and when doing so I felt something pop in arm. I ignored the pain. I did not want to scare my Grand daughter any further. The doors opened and we were able to get out. The police showed immediately and I explained what happened. They told me to go home and tend to my Grand daughter, they saw how upset and terrified she was, My arm hurt so badly But my focus was to get my Grand Daughter home were she felt safe. I was almost home when the store manager called me. Again I explained what happened. He heard the crying in the background. He asked if $1000 Gift Card would help erase the incident. I am still waiting. I went to Emergency regarding my arm. I was in pain and was told that I pulled a muscle and tendon due to opening the automatic door. I was told to see my Orthopedic Surgeon. I still experience pain in my arm and I am still waiting for the gift card. My story does not end there. This past summer I visited the store again. This time alone, since the incident there my Grand Daughter is very hesitate about going inside any stores with me. I was looking to purchase some furniture. A Store Manager met with me, He was in fact the new Main Manager there. We discussed the incident and the promise of the Gift Card. He informed me that he was looking into this matter and if I was promised that $1000 Gift Card then I should receive it. Well Summer is long and gone along with Christmas and I am still waiting. That is a shame that this store does not live up to their promises. Nothing but lies.
