I had some issues being homeless for a while i informed them i needed to withdraw from school compleatly. Came back and had net issues among other things. Ashford promise was that when you drop a class in the first week you pay nothing. I was NEVER informed of the change at all when they changed it. Not only that they supported a teacher who did not respond to emails which caused me to be fully dismissed they upheld that dismissal today even though my gps is a 3.47. Now i have student loans and the possibility to lose my job. This is not right in any way. Instructors are to respond with in 48hrs of your e-mail yet this never happened for me.... my degree A double major psychology and sociology. So mad about this what can even be done? Im honestly screwed now i can't enroll in another college because aparently i owe the school 2000 that i didn't even know about nor do i know why or how!!!

I attended ashford university from 2015 to 2017. I was advised by Stephanie Dively the academic advisor that the masters degree in psychology would allow me to qualify to test for marriage family therapy license. I told here that that was my goal in attending the masters program. I was later notified after half way through the program that this degree does not qualify me to sit for MFT testing but was told that since i'm almost done I might as well continue and complete the masters in psychology degree which I did. I also took out student loans to attend and would like to know how I can join the class action suite against Ashford University. I feel I was tricked and lied to in order to get me to get student loans.

I started school at Ashford online roughly 3 years ago. I have only failed one class due to the stress of surgery and pregnancy right after. I was told there was nothing I could do and was still responsible for paying for the class. I told them that being pregnant, working, and going to school was just too stressful for me and I needed a break. I was informed that I could only take 30 days off without penalty and that they have no guidelines in place in respect to pregnancy. So now I am beyond stressed out and scrambling to continue to do well in my program.
As if this wasn't enough, after looking into my account and Financial debt I have realized that I have been double-charged for quite a few classes. I have never had somebody call me and speak with me about what it is exactly I am being charged for, I have never received a document with all of my loans on it, I have never signed a piece of paper work since the day I started saying that I understand the debt I am accruing. Now I am $60,000 in debt I don't even know who I have to pay this money back to, what my interest rates are, what exactly I am paying for, and I still have a year left. They even raised the classes when I was in my second year and went back for back pay and added it to my loan.
I was told I could get a job as a social worker when I was done. This is my first time in college and I did not understand that day psychology bachelors with a minor in sociology has nothing to do with being certified to work as a social worker.
I am a single mother with two kids. I have been taken advantage of like so many others. I do not understand why nobody is in our corner and holding this school accountable. This is ruining people's lives.
