Is this even being looked into? I posted a complaint about 1 year ago and have heard nothing back. I'm not sure I understand the point of these complaints if nothing is being done about it. Is anyone investigating this any further??

I graduated in October 2012 from Ashford. They sent me a beautiful big Bachelor's Degree plaque that I can do absolutely nothing with. I was told I would receive my Bachelor's in Early Childhood in as little as 2 years. What I wasn't told was that I would have to take additional classes at a local college. After receiving my degree in the mail I contacted Ashford about obtaining my license and they told me that I would have to attend a local college to obtain my student teaching license. I was understanding of the fact that I had to attend a local college to do this, however I was not ok with the fact that all of the colleges that I contracted did not accept Ashford's classes and I had to sign up to take several other classes resulting in more student debt. I contacted Ashland University, Ohio State University, Ohio Christian University, and Columbus State Community College non of which would accept my classes. I finally got ahold of Ohio Dominican University and they were willing to accept some of the classes but I still had to take an additional 13 classes before I could even begin my student teaching. I was not able to finish my schooling to obtain my license, so I have not been able to repay my loans. Can anyone please point me in the right direction as to who I can contact to get results.

This is unbelievable! Let see, when I first started school was at ICDC College and graduated November 15th 2013 and they ended up committing and act of fraud, now attending Ashford University and just found out three days ago about the criminal act against hard working students to online classes and a settlement that I did not agree with and was never served a letter to this settlement. I ended up with two incomplete classes due to work, which I was working eleven hours a day including Fridays and cost me to be fined twice which came to a total of over $6000.00 that I have already been making payments to a prior penalty due to an incomplete to which I have apply for a Academic Leave Request Form twice, since December 8th was the last day for school in order for me to attend classes and to be rescheduled I have to pay full amount or have of the bill and the other half to be on a payment plan to pay and cannot graduate until the payment is complete.

Now with an email that came from Student Loan Forgiveness Program, from Josiah Davis had confirmed me about Ashford University and mis-informing students and because of this I have to pay $200.00 a month for the process of this crime that has been committed. I am planning to write to the Attorney General in Bismarck, North Dakota on this and my Attorney Robert Carlson to the law firm Wanger, Falconer & Judd, LTD in Minneapolis. This is more than fraud, their are more additional crimes committed here, being that I have studies state and federal to judicial procedures for over fifteen years I am going to do everything possible exercise the law of the land to the fullest.

I attended Ashford University online in the hopes of gaining a degree to help me get a better job to provide for my children. I had high grades and worked hard. I took out a ton of student loans and am massively in debt because of it.?I can't get funding to continue my degree at another university because of this. Every school term, I received an overage check from my financial aid package covering more than tuition and books. One semester I had to drop out late in the term because of a family emergency. When I went to register for the next term, I was told that I owed over $4000 in fees for the previous semester. How did I get an overage check if I owed money? I don't have the funds to pay do it's hurting my credit. I can't transfer any of the classes I took because Ashford won't let me have my transcript. I want in on this lawsuit because I feel like I've been lied to, cheated and taken advantage of. I was a single mom for most of the time I attended. I want to finish my degree and be a good role model for my children.

I was recruited by an "advisor" to take classes for my degree in criminal justice ( ironic). The advisor called me as I had completed a survey that I checked off I wanted to obtain my degree online. Totally convinced after an hour long conversation this was the way to go.

I received student loans that were supposed to be used as classes were taken. After failing one class, I could never connect with a professor to get assistance. I decided to withdraw from the "University". I received tuition bills for a total of over 13,000 dollars!

My loans have been bought, sold and bought again. My credit has been effected so my credit score is terrible. I am told now by Great lakes, Iowa student Loan company that they have again sold my loan to now Performant. I apparently owe over 13,000 for one class??? Anywhere I seem to turn for help are willing to consolidate the two loans in to one for me. That is not my issue my issue is that I should not owe 13,000 for one class.

In an attempt to figure this mess out I went back into the student portal and pulled up my actual loan records. I have been charged over 1200 for room and board. Its an online school, as far as I recall I slept in my own bed after sleepless nights trying to reach a damn professor. My book fees are totally out of the ball park as well. I apparently owe over 3,000 for books. I took one class and bought the book myself.

I do not owe Ashford anything close to 13,000 dollars however I cannot seem to find anyone to lead me down the proper path to clear my name and a debt I do not owe. My elderly father is coming to live with us due to illness and I cannot even buy a decent house or even be looked at for a house because Ashford has me flagged on credit reports.
If anyone can help me resolve the situation that are a legitimate company as well please email me the information. I was contacted by a company who claimed to be able to resolve my debt. Advisor enrolled me into courses that were not part of my program and I ended up paying out of pocket. When I confronted the advisor he suggested that I misinterpreted the email. Why would anyone pay to take a classes for no reason and that didn't count towards graduation? They are scammers

I was mislead from the very beginning when financial aid was explained to me. I was told my first two courses were free. I was dismissed in a horrible way and my advisor and teacher at the time agreed. I was not given the time needed to bring up my g.p.a and was dismissed from the second class that would have brought it back up. I submitted a statement from my teacher and it went unheard. No one sent me an update on my SAP and when I continously asked about it I was disrespected and ignored. My loans were credited to my account while I was still in class but were sent back a month after I was dismissed and you all kept my pell grant a month after my dismissal. I was told my loans were sent back because I was no longer a student so why not return my pell because you all accepted it a month and a half after you put me out? I asked the department of education and they said you all were not supposed to keep the pell if I wasn't a student after you all dismissed me. I was told for sure I could come back in September 2014 all the way through February 2015 and that my balance was to be paid by recovered funds that were sent back when I was dismissed and then i receive a collections notice. I contacted the agency and they agreed to place the attempt to collect on hold because they want to further investigate this matter especially since I have over 250 emails that I saved from the day enrolled till now that proves I was mislead, lied to and cheated. I will be mailing copies to them once they are ready for them. On top of that, they dismissed me after not being able to get my prior school transcripts. I was told to sign an authorization to close form and wouldn't need the transcripts if I signed the form and this turns out to be a lie. I want to join a lawsuit against Ashford. Ashford University really set me up for failure. They sent representatives down to Perry Georgia to recruit students for their Bachelor and Master program in Education. I told them their that I wanted to join their program for my Master but I needed to know were they accredited for Georgia teaching program. Which they replied yes and gave me information and set me up for a phone call with an advisor. I explained my situation and decoded to join because other teachers joined and were also told that it was accredited for Ga. After my graduation in july of 2014, I went through Ga process of upgrading my degree. I was denied due to Ashford not being accredited in Ga. I was heart broken because my friend had just graduated as well from there and was told that if was nothing she could do to change the decision. Note I'm not only out of money but a degree and I'm unable to transfer any of my credits to help me move forward.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS HELL HOLE: I wish I would had never wasted my time and money, they are full of SH** I'm trying to understand how is the hell do you finish and pay the graduation fee waiting for your degree have a zero balance and all the sudden they say that you owe them some money umm not sure what the hell they doing and when you question what you owe the money for nobody knows anything they don't know why you owe the money they just say you owe the money but don't know how you owe it they just know that you do whatever you do stay away from this hell hole and if it was the last college on earth then don't waste your time and money If that the case don't go to school. I wish I had never heard of Ashford University don't waste your time don't waste your money because in the end you will be the one who's going to suffer.
