aspen dental

Aspen convinced me that I would be well taken care of and convinced me into signing a treatment plan for over $9000.00. This would be for 22 extractions of my remaining teeth and 2 sets of dentures. A temporary 6 month set, then a permanent set. On July 13, 2015 I had the extractions done, very brutally, grab, rock, and yank. I was given novacain but not enough to not to feel everything despite my complaints, repeatedly being told " were almost done". The next day for my after surgery visit I complained about the temporary dentures not fitting properly and falling out when I opened my mouth. The doctor grabbed my jaw and turned my head towards her. I replied by slapping at her hand and cursing her. She took the dentures into another room, brought them back, I tried them, still not good. I was told "give them time, come back in 2 weeks" and I was hurried out of the office. I returned 2 weeks later and complained about the size and fit of the dentutres. They are so huge I cannot get my lips closed together with them in my mouth and if my jaws were not clenched together they would fall out of my mouth when I tried to speak. They made another adjustment which was still not right and when I protested they replied "your mouth is changing, give them a chance, and come back in 2 weeks". Again I was hurried out. I tried to make an appointment 2 weeks later and was told it would be in another 2 weeks. I protested stating "I had to return to work and could not do so with horse teeth that continue to fall out of my mouth". The receptionist said "that is all we can do, your mouth is changing, and give them a chance". Becoming frustreated I consulted another dentist. He made his recomendations, quoted me a price, which was considerably lowere than Aspens quote, and in 2 weeks time, not 6 months. I contacted Aspen and informed them I would not be returning, they began arguing with me saying " You can not refuse treatment, give them a chance, and your mouth is still changing". They continued arguing and I hung up the phone. The next afternoon the office manager (Jason) called. He asked what the problem was. I told him " I don't believe I am being taken care of properly, the Dr. was rude and abusive, the receptionist should not be giving medical advise over the phone, and I cannot wait any longer to get permanent dentures". He became very argumentative telling me " you can not refuse treatment". I replied " take out what I owe to this point, return the rest of my Care Credit dollars and I will have the work finished somewhere else". When he continued to argue, I hung up the phone. Soon after I received a letter from Aspen Dental with a refund of the remaining funds totaling $1,659.00 which was not enough to have any work done elsewhere. I also received a copy of the work they claim to have performed. I compared this to my copy of my treatment acceptance form and was very surprised to find the were exatctly the same.at The charges stated that of the 22 extractions, 10 were surgical @ $102.00 higher. There were no surgical extractions. I was charged $250.00 for Alveo Per Quad W/Exts four times for a total of $1,000.00. This was never performed. I was also charged $403.00 for a frenulectomy. This was also never performed. I called Aspen complaints department and was told "if it is on my bill they performed the work". I contacted Care Credit and filed a dispute and it was decided in favor of Aspen Dental. I then contacted the Michigan Attornet Generals office and opened a case with them. I was then contacted by Aspens Satisfaction department, they began arguing immediately stating I did not "give them a chance". I stated I would not pay for work that was never performed for which they insisted "if it is on the bill, they did the work". I replied "well it's a miracle then, because my Frenulum grew back" I also stated "I never had an incision nor a suture in my mouth". Any of these procedures I was charged for would have required this. I hung up the phone, refusing to argue with them. I received another phone call within minutes and was offered a refund of 100%, return the temporary dentures and sign an order keeping the terms of this release confidential. I have not signed or returned anything yet as I also have a fraud case opened with Delta Dental for a refund of $1,700.00 of my dental insurance benefits, I stated "I don't believe Aspen Dental should be rewarded with any monies already collected by them for work they never performed". I filed this in December and was informed it would take up to 120 days for them to make their decision. I contacted Delta Dental after the first of the new year to inquire about my benefits for 2016 and was informed I can not use any of this until the dispute I filed with them against Aspen Dental is resolved.Care Credit has called insisting I sign the release from Aspen Dental and they will help repair my credit. I will not sign anything as Delta Dental could rule in Aspen Dentals favor.
It has been nearly 6 months, the denture I received still do not fit, nor stay in my mouth. It is my belief that Aspen Dental does not care about the best intrest of their patients, just the cash lining their pockets. Once I signed on the bottom line I was nothing but a bother to them and treated as such. I also will not sign an order of confidentiality as I believe I have every right to state the facts I believe to be true.
