I visited the new Athleta store in Amherst, NY (Buffalo, NY). I was carrying a pair of pants to try on when a store clerk asked if she could take them and start a fitting room for me. I said, “yes, thank you” and gave her my name.
I went to the dressing room a few minutes later and my name was not on any door. I checked the 3 or 4 opened fitting room and the pants were no where to be found, nor the store clerk.
I asked another store clerk where the pants could be. She looked around the store and couldn’t find them either. She got frustrated and looked in her computer and said she doesn’t own the pair in the size 4 the clerk took from me. I asked where the other clerk was and she said, “she’s on break.” I could tell she was uncomfortable and resorting to being rude.
Was she trying to make me think I made up the pair of pants? Did I dream a clerk took the pants from me? Did I erase my name on the fitting room door and spend 5 minutes searching the store for a pair of pants - all while dealing with my 16 month old - for fun?
She was awful. I walked out vowing to never go back.
I don’t care about the overpriced pair of pants, just be kind.
