Rental Scam
RED ALERT!!! Ms. Imelda Nangoi and Mr.Dominic Chan run rental scam. Both of them promise to rent room for half a month and demanded to be paid full amount plus deposit when I agree to take the room. They never have room ready at all when time for me to move in.

Then they both went MIA. Never answer message or phone call. Now my money all gone. Evil! I hope the Police get them. I made report already.

We should all meet up for this matter as soon as possible, i am also a victim.

Yes, Dominic is a singaporean & his wife Imelda Nangoi is an indonesian with holding a singapore IC. We already submitted Dom's IC number & vehicle number & photo to police as well as CEA. All victims can inform police to link all the cases together. We all must take action report to police, let police arrest them & jail. HELP TO STOP THIS SCAM TOGETHER......

We are victims also of imelda and dominic. We spoke to the authority and say they are extortionists at large, and if anyone/victims have spotted them, directly call the police and have them arrested right away. Theres a same case that happened before in ag, scammers had been arrested and jailed! They are serial scammers on the loose!

I’m also a victim of them. I got my money back after a long and exhausting fight. Do you want to praise yourself by stating that you give everyone their money back Ms Imelda and Mr. Dominic? It is not only about returning the money or not, it is about the way you treat your tenants in general. Do you think it is fair what you do? Surprisingly they don’t answer anymore. The world would be much nicer without you! You'll get yourself killed if you’ll go on like this.

We are very sad to report that we trusted Imelda and Dominic to return the remainder of our money in the amount of $453.00 but they have yet to do so. This money is vital to paying cur current rent and they know it, but they continue to hang on to the funds while promising us, that they are working on it. We were on the 16th floor of Elizabeth Heights in the Jr. Master. We vacated the premises on February 17th. They promised to give us bac our money immediately, but we were told to meet up with people who never showed up or called to give a reason as to why they did not maintain the appointment. To this date, we are yet to see our monies returned. We are very disappointed that they require top dollars for the facilities, yet they handle the business very loosely.

I suggest all of you who are victims to report to police immediately. If you check go to the office stated on the boarding contract (tenancy agreement), you would know that this company does not exist. Dominic sent sms to many agents on weekly basis to ask agents to bring tenants to view the rooms as they are available. In actual fact, there are people already occupied the rooms and the lease is not expiry yet. It is a big rent scam.

yes, i agree it is a rental scam. They refused to answer calls and messages for 2 times viewing, and the rooms are not fully furnished when they show the house.

my heart goes out to all of you. i am also a victim of their cheating acts. wonder what they are thinking and how do you raise your kids in this sort of enviroment of lies and deceit? still waiting for dom to grow a pair down there and give me a call

We too have been victims of Atlas Alliance- by Imelda Nangoi, Dominic Chan, Selene, and two other other guys working with them.
The room was not available when we are supposed to move in.
She did not give us a copy of the contract even if we insisted several times,
It was a nightmare, a scam and a total bogus!

We keep on getting the updates on the status ofthe unit and our move in date was reconfirmed again an again by Imelda thru sms.we have been requesting to meet her personally to review the unit only to receive lame excuses as shes on leave or simply cannot meet up because she woke up late!
And to our disgust, days before our move in, the room is not ready, no ac, no furnitures, no progress.NOTHING.
We have been scammed, intimidated. and cheated by them.
Yes its true she will delay everything and it is INTENTIONAL.And this is how they operate. Beware in dealing with them.

Ms.Nangoi holds a Singapore IC I think. Whatever it is, do go to the Singapore Police and make a report as there are already reports with the Police on her. The Singapore Police say they will treat it as criminal case as she is obviously doing scams, cheating.
We need more victims to report to the Police so that she can't go on cheating others of their hard earned money.

Lets NOT allow such people get away from justice and law.

to file a case againt Ms Nangoi, an indonesian national.
We are now supported by the local authority.

We too are victims of this woman. IMelda Nangoi happens to be the same as Demelza Nangoi who have cheated indonesians under a different company. Its a rent scam.
Do not deal with her. You will be in trouble...

I strongly advice all to file police report. From what I read, it seems everybody has to go through lots of of stress, phone calls, messages and even to small claims tribunal before getting their money back! Ms. NANGOI DEMELZA CARMELITA & Mr. DOMINIC CHAN WAI MENG have put in place a scheme to cheat/scam people of their money. They take the money and keep for as long as they can before eventually returning it (if they do return!) I do know of some that even after going to SCT and they have not been able to get their money back! They don't even bother to appear at SCT! There are still lots out there which are waiting to get their money back.
I am one of those that are waiting. I have filed police report and I hope justice will be carried out.
I wonder how both of you are able to sleep at night?

I am currently doing a search about them--- imelda nangoi/dominic chan as i have a same case of fraudulent contract with them. Alibis are change of company, change of management, change of contractor for an agreed unit/room, months ahead prior to signing pretenancy. they will hold you without the contract til the very last minute with all alibis. Extort you by letting you pay the full amount without the unit, as you are left with no choice but to settle in, one day before the move in date.
The very same case happened to us. They have been doing this since last year and I know more victims will surface!
Its good i got this forum and people are filing a case. I will support and have all evidence against them.
I am appealing to authorities who will read this. Go investigate and see for yourself the activity of these people. It is illegal and a scam! After all the troubles they have caused, they should not only be jailed... They should be caned!

I shouldnt be careful and should broadcast to all to be aware of what you have been doing is just damn ILLEGAL. All claims here in the forum is exactly what is the modus operandi that happened. How can you do this? Its a shame you are also indonesian. You are a big shame doing this in a foreign land. May the authority see this and let you pay for whatever damage you have caused to all your victims.

Bear in mind that such illegal practice of extortion, cheating and fraud is a major offense under the Singapore Law.
These people are decent working professionals with evidence on violations of cheating, extortion and fraud with agreement of proper and comfortable accomodation, with monetary sum signed by both parties.
You will be responsible and suffer the consequences of your actions in a fair and proper court ruling as filing of case is underway.

How dare this imelda nangoi to be replyig in this trail, seems you are still at large and should be in jail right now. WE ASKED FOR APPOINTMENT BUT YOU WERE NOT AVAILABLE, UNTIL FEB 29 THE TIME WE WENT THERE TO SIGN AND SEE THE ROOM. WE WERE EXPECTING YOU ON THE "DAY OF CONTRACT SIGNING".

THE REASON WE COMPLAINED IS THAT YOU DELAYED EVERYTHING!!
YOU DELAYED THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE ROOM!!
YOU DELAYED THE REFUND!!

Hi Victim 20120212 as I am sure you already know both the landlord and Dominic attened the meidation which they disputed and you had asked them if they would want to settle before the hearing date and they are considering that option. Also when you filled up the SCT form you filed it against the landlord and Dominic not me and or Atlas Alliance as such I would much apprecitate that you leave my name out of it. Your money did not pass through my hands at all. Xiao 018 be careful with what you state you claim I have cheated many Indonesians?? I would strongly suggest to the victims to file a thorough and separate complaint letter directly to CEA, they have a compalints link form on their website.
Attached with your letter all the fraud documents they have issued as proof of evidence.
I hope this will settle and put the culprit behind bars.
Just a note from the CEA website:

Outcome If there is sufficient evidence to substantiate the allegation, CEA will take the appropriate action including disciplinary or prosecution action After completing the investigation and taking the appropriate action, you will be notified in writing of the outcome.

You don't have to afford a lawyer. Police reports are fruitless as they do not have much jurisdictions. Singapore has set up a very strict council governing the actions of Estate Agencies. You can find more information at www.cea.gov.sg. I have cut and copied a certain passage.

Terminology: Under the new Estate Agents Act
"Estate agents" means estate agency businesses(sole proprietors, partnerships, and companies)
"Salespersons" means individuals who perform estate agency work

from the above it is clear that they are performing estate agencies work and you should be able to file a complain at the given website.

Atlas Alliance is brave enough doing such things because they know we can't afford to have a lawyer..

Dominic is lucky enough this case happened in Singapore, if this was in other country, he might ended up like in a serious situation for cheating..

We are hoping, someday, somehow, someone will kick their asses and justice will prevail..

Reading all the scenarios from the victims, happening not only once, yes this is a serious case of extortion and fraud. And yes obviously CHEATING And under the Singapore law, extortion and cheating is a major offense:
Under our penal code: whoever unintentionally puts any person in fear of any injury to that person or another, dishonestly induces the person to put in fear to deliver to any person or valuable security, or anything signed or sealed which may be converted into a valuable security, commits extortion.
This is punishable with 2-7years imprisonment and caning.
