AT&T u-verse Bait and Switch charge
AT&T has been running an ad for months here in Metro Atlanta advertising ANY internet speed up to 45mbps for $29.95 per month with an additional qualifying service. I called as a have an AT&T land line, they tell me I qualify, they install the service, then charge me $39.95 per month rather than $29.95. Service was installed on March 6, 2015, to date I am still fighting with them and getting no where. I have never been as disgusted with the lack of customer service and/or resolution as I currently am with AT&T. Absolutely disgusted. Will continue to search for new boards to post to warn as many others as I can regarding this unethical company.

Billing does not match prices quoted
I started new service, a bundle package (Uverse TV, high speed internet and Uverse voice phone). They quoted me an introductory rate of $151. When the tech came out to install the equipment he advised my bill would get adjusted and be lower because my home was located in an area which did not receive high speed internet and only two of my three tv's could be watched at a time.
When my first bill came I was startled to see the following charges:
U-verse TV $145.30
U-verse internet $46.00
U-verse Voice $29.70
Those fees did not include installation fees or taxes. My total actual bill was $292.83. For one month of service, which was limited to a few movie channels. When I called to complain I was cited a new monthly rate of $131. I was to pay $174 because of installation but promised credits the following month.
Next months bill came and I was ALARMEd to see new charges of $292.83. No credits and no reduction of services.
I again called to complain and the informed me to send $228.85 for this month and promised the credits on the next bill.
In the mean time I learned the installer disconnected my home alarm and I had no alarm service for the last monyh+. The alarm company charged me $67 to come out and reconnect my alarm. The alarm man said the installation was very poor. The just ran a cable through the drywall and threw a plate with two small screws in the drywall.
Do not use this service as they use bait and switch billing tactics. When you complain - You will be transferred from one department to another and spend hours on the phone. They will promise you reductions and credits on your next bill, which don't transpire.

Unethical billing practices
On about December 8th 2015, I had ATT phone service and Uverse television and Internet service (bundle) installed in my home. The installation took two days. The service did not work for three days from what was cited as the computers being down. I ordered the service after being quoted a total rate of $151. After everything was installed the tech advised my bill should be lower than originally cited because in the area in which my home was located; did not receive high speed internet and only two of the three Uverse boxes ordered would work at any one time.
My first bill came and service totaled $246 a month. ($145.30 - Uverse TV, $46 for Uverse internet $46.00, $29.70 - Uvese Voice). When I called to complained about the misquoted price, the employee advised they did see where I was quoted $151 and would modify the billing. I paid $174 over the phone to include installation charges. She modified the monthly billing to $130 charging me for only 2 TVs and a lower speed internet due to my location's capabilities.
The next month bill came and I was startled to see my bill was $292.83 with no credits and no reduction of charges. When I called to inquire, they advised I should pay $228.85 this month and receive credits next month. Since that was what the woman told me last month I didn't believe the representative and asked for my service to be turned off. I was sent an EMail on how to return my equipment but could not be quoted a final bill.
I believe I am the victim of a Bait and Switch tactic. Keep paying higher cost with the promise of future credits.
