I bought a used (reconditioned) computer from walmart. When I tried to transfer my advanced care to my new computer it would not accept license number. So I called them and told them I needed to have my advanced care turned on. Before I knew it he was telling me that my computer had viruses and no anti virus and for 99.00 he could fix everything and add the anti virus. Several hours later after going round and round with this tech I could not understand, he basically did nothing. Two anti viruses would not download on my computer and he put two free items on computer. He said that he would refund 100.00 for the two downloads that would not take. The next day when I looked at my computer I noticed that the one item he specifically told me was a virus was still there and the two free items he put on were the type of things that I would have done myself. My credit card was charged 199.00 and I am in the process of disputing that for the full amount. They did what is called an "up sale" where you call for one reason and they talk you into getting more. If my computer had not been 'new' I would not have gone for the okey-doke but I reasoned maybe they missed something when they refurbished the computer, not knowing i was being scammed. It has been two months since I started dispute and have not heard anything yet. They have 30 more days to disagree with dispute. Hopefully they have enough on their hands and leave me alone.
