I received an email from a domain that says they are a collecting a debt owed to Aveda Institute Chapel Hill (NC) but their email domain is from @nurturaveda.com and I asked Aveda to verify some information. Is the email coming from
[email protected] actually coming from the Aveda Institute? Why do they have incorrect financial information? Please reference the attached documents that we reviewed with myself, and Aveda Chapel Hill Financial Aid (via Accounting Department) as well as Professional Development; prior to any initiation of transfer or withdrawal.
Prior to my withdrawal, we met to discuss completion and refund amounts; prior to me making a decision to withdrawal. Based on the information that Aveda Chapel Hill Financial Aid Verified (per accounting) that I had only completed 49.13% (PER LAST ATTENDED DATE OF 10/17/16). My medical disability leave of absences were discussed and Professional Development agreed that I had only completed 49.13%. Chapel Hill Financial Aid (per Accounting Department) said and marked-up the attached document the amounts I would be receiving reimbursement for; if I were to withdrawal at that date would be #FD16218 (-$1,732) + #FD16219 (-$2,968) + 30% of Tuition refunded. The whole purpose of scheduling this meeting with Aveda Chapel Hill Accounting and Professional Development was to ensure that I was making an informed decision; so that I would know exactly would know exactly how much of a balance I would have with the school, IF I WERE TO WITHDRAWAL AND TRANSFER.
When we met, prior to my withdrawal, the attached documents (contract & course completion record) were reviewed and noted the portions of my financial aid that would be refunded as well as the 30% tuition portion to be refunded; due to my completion being ONLY 49.13%.
· Since this was the information coming directly from the leaders of this institution; I made my decision to transfer to another school.
