I was returning some items - onesies - to the Babies R Us store at Danbury, CT today. I did have both the regular and the gift receipt. The lady at the register wanted to ID me. I asked her for what reason. She said it is there policy. I told her I do not think it is her right to ask for my ID. I wanted to speak to the manager of the store - she called over a lady, named Missy who said the same, they need my ID. I left the store without refunding the items.
At home I checked the website which only says you need ID for the items WITHOUT receipt.
I called the store asking for the manager. Now a lady name Daniel answered and sounded just like Missy.... saying the same I need the ID for returning items no matter if I have the receipt or not.
I am upset with the attitude of the company and about this - probably - fake policy. This is how people identifications get stolen.
Not mine! I won't ever go back to that store again!
