NEVER BANK WITH BBVA COMPASS! TODAY, I made a deposit through the drive thru, and the teller told me I would have to deposit the entire check to get immediate credit rather than get cash back, so I told him "fine, just deposit the whole check."
Then, the idiot teller, who I have had to report before, sent me a letter thru the window, showing he STILL PUT A FIVE DAY HOLD ON THE CHECK! I WAS FURIOUS!!
I went in to the branch, was told to talk to a teller, who told me with a BIG FAT ATTITUDE, THAT IS 'JUST BANK POLICY'. I informed her, that I have had the hold taken off this check before, and If they couldn't credit me, then return my check. She said, they' couldn't do that.' I explained, that would cause NSF fees, which could potentially eat up the entire amount, and she said, "that's our policy."
I worked as a loan officer at Bank of America in Los Angeles for 4 years. I know much more about banking than this obnoxious slob teller, and she then brought over the manager, who asked me what the teller told me, I explained. He then said, that he still couldn't return MY CHECK.
NO PROBLEM. WILL DEPOSIT MUCH MORE THAN NEEDED IN THE MORNING, COMPLAIN TO THE PRESIDENT OF COMPASS AT THEIR HEADQUARTERS, THEN TALK WITH MY LAWYER ABOUT HARASSMENT, because the manger, ordered me out of the bank, even though I was being very courteous and simply explained that this is not 'normal bank procedure.' He even threatened to call police. I wish he had. Then, I would be filing a false arrest and harassment charge against him, and the 'teller'.
My lawyer is very excited about how many lawsuits Compass has lost because of some of their illegal dealings. Shouldn't have messed with me.

A TELLER PUT A FIVE DAY HOLD ON A CHECK AFTER SAYING HE WOULDN'T AS LONG AS I DEPOSITED ENTIRE CHECK. THEN, HE SENT OUT A FORM LETTER IN THE DRIVE THRU LANE, SHOWING A HOLD WAS PUT ON THE CHECK ANYWAY!
I WENT INSIDE, AND EXPLAINED TO THE TELLER, WHO GAVE ME ATTITUDE AND NO EXPLANATION, OTHER THAN,'THIS IS BANK POLICY'. WELL, I KNOW BANK POLICY, HAVING BEEN A LOAN OFFICER AT BANK OF AMERICA IN LOS ANGELES FOR 4 YEARS!
Then, the 'manager' told me that I was being rude, and 'ordered me out of the bank, after telling me that what the teller did is 'policy', even though I have gotten holds taken off of this same check before. I told him, to please call security, and if needed, the police. I would be more than happy to file a false arrest and harassment charge against him, and the obnoxious teller, who has ALWAYS HAD AN ATTITUDE!
So, I will be filing a formal complaint at the bank's headquarters downtown, then pulling out my money immediately.
If you DON'T LIKE GETTING SCAMMED, DON'T BANK WITH COMPASS, ESPECIALLY IN BIRMINGHAM. THEY ARE ALL IDIOTIC MORONS.

This bank keep holding back the merchants charges on my debit card and once my money got low they put the charges through causing my account to be over drafted and now their trying to charge over $200 in fees and they sent my account to collections.
