I entered into a trial with this dating site for a month for £5, found it to be below average, so stopped using it after a week and thought that was that. Until £149 was taken out of my account.
I received no receipt of payment or any email from them, and only after considerable checking did I find a small line under an email marked "receipt of payment" for my ORIGINAL £5 does it state they will automatically upgrade me to a 6 month package of £149, which they fail to say will come out of your account in one payment.
I have received no receipt of payment for £149 weirdly enough, beacuse if they were a reputable and honest company genuinely trying to provide a good service as some of them are, they would have done this.
Following my complaint to them, and requesting at least some of the money be refunded as I genuinely will not be using their service, they have still refused to refund ANY of the money, not even a month.
There should be a law introduced that states these companies must give you a reminder that the account is about to be renewed, and to give you at least a proper opportunity to cancel, as there are with other companies and services out there.
