I was originally on a site called Be2 dating site in 2011. At the end of that year after being on it for 3 months I decided it was not a great site so I decided to cancel my membership. So I finally found out how to do this and I had to fax a signed form overseas requesting the cancellation of my membership. I never entered the site again. Approximately six months later I noticed that two credit card transaction had been made by them for the amount of 187 Euro each. Which is approx $478 Australian. I cancelled my credit card. In September 2012 I received an email from them saying that I owed them a further 187 Euro for the past 3 months membership. I emailed them back and said I cancelled by membership at the beginning of the year. They claim they never received it so I am liable for that amount. I replied saying I wasn't paying anything as I fullfilled my obligations and wasn't responsible for any error on their end. That was back in October 2012. I never heard anymore until this weekend 09/03/2013 where they sent and email saying that it was from a collection agency called Interum Justitia and I was to pay by credit card to avoid and further action. I googled the collecdtion agencies name, they are a legitmate agency, but, the emails were not signed by anyone just had their logo and an email address to reply to if you had a valid reason why you won't pay. The email address was not from the collection agency but [email protected]. This email address appears not to be a valid address as my replies kept comming back as undelivered. I believe this company is to be a scam and acts fraudulently at the best. I am not sure wether to contact the legitimate collection agency and query this or just ignore the emails. I know one thing I am not giving my new credit card details out again.
