Return policy

I find the LCBO’s policy of not accepting the return of empty beer bottles initially acquired at there outlets illogical and contrary to the national drive to reduce waste and protect our environment.
To sluff this responsibility off onto the Beer Store displays a lack of corporate integrity. This is especially so when it applies to a government run institution where Canadians expect leadership and sound policy reflecting the desires of the people that elect them to office.

I was appalled to be turned away when attempting to return a case of empty beer bottles that were initially purchased at the LCBO. To then be advised to take them to a competitor for return reflected a glib and unprofessional stance towards an ever growing environmental crisis in our eco system.

This episode has left me with a sour taste when it comes to this organization and it’s lack of leadership. If it is not prepared to toe the line in its environmental Corporate responsibilities, then perhaps it should not be in the business of selling beer products.
As of this writing l do not intend on making my beer purchases through the LCBO. This is my citizen’s responsibility as a supporter of our environment and it’s sustainability.

A reply to this letter would be appreciated, but not expected, in lieu of the LCBO’s unmerited position.

Empty bottle return policy
