Thank for your reply. I was surprised by the fact that the auto renewal had happened without my permission as back in August 26th of 2014 I went in and turned off the auto renewal feature (see the attached PDF of my history turning off the auto-renewal feature). And at that time I recall trying to delete my credit card information from the Web site but was not allowed to totally delete it. (I tried to do the same thing on June 2nd when I received the auto-renewal email and still was not able to remove it).
So I was deeply disturbed when I received the email that the auto renewal had taken place even though I had turned the auto renewal off on August 26,2014. This makes me wonder how it got turned back on? Is Avangate a company that can be trusted to store my credit card information? I have contacted the fraud department of my credit card company and will be considering other actions. I hope you will credit my credit card as soon as possible and advise me of a way that the credit card number can be completely removed from the Avangate web site.
I look forward to your reply.
Regards,
Mike Kramer

Dear Mike,
Thank you for contacting us in regards to this matter.
Your refund request has been acknowledged, however please note that the Auto-Renewal option is designed to help you by offering a continuous protection, without interruption. It also saves you the time of physically renewing every year. Please note that this order was placed as an automatic renewal because this option was enabled during your first purchase from http://www.bitdefender.com website.
Also, to your email address has been sent a notification regarding the automatic renewal, with 7 days before the date of the renewal, where you had the option to disable this feature. As well, you had the possibility of canceling the automatic renewal option by accessing your Avangate account through the link below:
https://secure.avangate.com/myaccount/
We now offer you the opportunity to keep your auto-renewal benefits along with a special 30 USD discount from Bitdefender! The discount will be applied directly to the 89.95 USD you paid for the renewal of XXXXXX license key. We will also add 6 extra months for free to the validity period of your key. Should you accept our offer, you will save 30 USD for a 1 year and a half subscription.
The discount will be refunded back to your account in a few working days if you accept the offer.
Mike, please let us know if you would like to proceed with the offer or if you just need some further details.
Best Regards,
