sick puppy
I bought a sick puppy from this kennel at a flea market on Sept.19, 2009. His eyes where running when i looked at him so I asked them about it they stated that that was normal. Well it wasn't. I took the puppy to the vet they told me he had bronchitis. I then emailed the kennel they stated that he was vet checked and was fine before i got him. I asked them if they would help pay for the vet bills of course they said no but to keep in touch with how the puppy is doing. I thought it was odd that he was the only one of his breed and that he was alittle frail but they told me he was the runt. I payed $250.00 for him. He had been sick from the start then on Nov. 8th he died. He was scheduled to go to the vet on Nov. 9th but he did not make it. I contacted the kennel and they will not return any of my messages. When I looked at the Health Guarantee it states that the only way I can get a replacement(which I do not want) is if I have an autopsy done. That costs more than what I paid for him. I think this company knew he was sick. I'm glad I got him because it's hard to tell what would have happened to him if not. I hope that no one else gets a puppy from these people. When you look on their website i just wonder if it's not a puppy mill. I have sent several complaints and I hope they get looked into.

A puppy mill, sometimes known as a puppy farm, is a commercial dog breeding facility that is operated with an emphasis upon profits above animal welfare and is often in substandard conditions regarding the well-being of dogs in their care. Similar types of operations exist for other animals commonly kept as pets or used as feed for other animals. The term can be applied to operations involving other animals commercially bred for profit, e.g. "kitty mills. There are an estimated 4, 000 puppy mills in the U.S. that produce more than half a million puppies a year. Commercial kennels may be licensed by the United States Department of Agriculture which may inspect the kennels routinely.
For-profit breeding on a smaller scale is sometimes referred to as backyard breeding.
A legal definition for the term "puppy mill" was established in Avenson v. Zegart in 1984: "a dog breeding operation in which the health of the dogs is disregarded in order to maintain a low overhead and maximize profits."
Bogan Kennels "breeds" Cairn Terriers, Scottish Terriers, Skye Terriers, Silky Terriers, Pomeranians, Dachshunds, Doberman Pinschers. Bogan Kennels says they are USDA licenced.
