Unfair extra payments

I wonder, just why when u haven't been using dstv services than one has to pay R345, and an extra R175, what is that for, cos after I paid my in may my decoder just stopped working, which I purchased on the 25 of January 2016. I left it till I bought a new one this month, after paying the monthly payment, I was informed to pay extra R175, not R50 for reconnecting, but R175. Can please explain what is that for and why allow me to pay R345, when you know u are going to switch it of on the 7th anyway.
I agree with most of this emails, this is a rip off. And very unfair.
