loss of phone number

I was with Boost Mobile from 2009 until this weekend. I had my phone number for approximately 13 + years. Never had a problem with Boost until now. My boost # is my main phone for contact. I use it for work and work related contacts.I have many accounts and what not tied to this number. So I decided to leave my secondary carrier and add a second line to my account with Boost. I added the line and ported my other number over to the new line. A temporary number was put on the new line until the ported number came over. Sounds routine. Guess again! Somehow they decided to port the number onto my original phone number instead of the temporary number on the new line. I know it was temporary because I was told it was not only this the first time on the phone but multiple times by various numbers of representatives I kept getting passed to about my problem. They wanted sorry for the inconvenience to be the end of it. Not acceptable! I never approved my existing number be taken off. After hours and hours of back and forth the best they could come up with was maybe in 72 hrs. they could retrieve my umber but no promises. And if by some chance they could then I would loose my other number I ported over because that's the phone it would port to. I said that doesn't
make any sense. I told them to put the ported number on the phone it's supposed to be on and give my phone the temporary number until we see if my number can be retrieved. They said no. I told them again unacceptable and that was not what I paid for and I wanted my account cancelled and a refund. We proceeded with the cancelling of the account. Afterwards they would not give me a refund. They agreed that I did not receive the service I paid them for. Still would not refund me and told me if I wanted my money back to go to the bank and dispute it. Unbelievable! I don't know, but I thought releasing an active number without consent was illegal. I also thought there was a 60 day period before it could be redistributed as well. My # was already in use when I called about this. Only a couple hours after the initial transaction and well before the 4 hrs. they said it might take to port. I believe this to be true because I called the number and it was ringing. If it's not the case then why couldn't I get my number back? It's also possible that there are just that many incompetent people working there. At least 10 that I would know of if that is indeed the case. 13 yrs. of contacts and account association. Never even offered me anything for their huge mistake. They really care about customer loyalty at Boost let me tell ya. Sorry for the inconvenience my ass!
