Two days ago, we were searching online for flights for my brother. He was supposed to fly back the following day, but he had fallen ill, and we were hoping to find a cheap flight a few days later. We entered our credit card information, but realized the price had gone up and decided not to go through with the booking. Our brother took his original flight. Later that day, we found out that the booking had gone through, and the credit card had been charged, even though we never confirmed payment. We have spent hours and hours on the phone asking for a full refund, but apparently we can only get $12 back for cancelling the flight -- a $172 flight that we never booked. We should not be charged a cent for this flight, and the money and time spent on the phone calls barely get covered by the $12 refund we did get offered. Email correspondence and phone correspondence have proven equally useless. In one email, the representative said that it was based on the policy of the airline. I called Swissair, and they maintained that it was completely up to the booking agent to refund flights not booked directly through Swissair. However, nobody at bravofly.com is willing to fully refund our flight.
