ROBBERY

GOOD DAY

I have existing accounts with both of the shops mentioned on the subject line. I have had recent experiences with both the shops which according to me it’s unfair consumer practice. The norm is that you will open an account with a shop and they give you credit. I will just put a scenario in place so that you understand what my query is:

I get a credit of R500 and use my card, as I use the card the store will ask me if I want a credit limit increase and will say no because I know what the limits on my budget are. I will continue using the account buying and paying at the same time, no arrears on the account. Now for some reason through the thousand times of using the account, obviously you not now tracking how much you have used and how much you have paid, in simple terms I am saying the only interest when I have an account my main interest will be what I owe, what my credit is obviously from the statement I get and the receipts when I pay or buy, I am talking also for all the illiterate people that are out there.

Now trouble starts when now I pay my account and I am told that I do not have credit and when you ask why you are told that the store has given you CUSHION CREDIT…what the hell is that? Sorry for my language but a am so furious…they say its credit that the store gives you without consent or agreement and if you use it you must pay it back if you do not use it in a certain period of time they take it back. According to me that is daylight robbery. Nobody must give me any credit without my knowledge or consent. I know what are limits on my finances so no one has a right to force credit which I did not sign up for. Consumers here are taken for a ride and they don’t know unfortunately. In SA the financial status is in a liquid state as it is and we now have companies adding misery to consumers so that they are never out of debt.

CAN YOU PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS RUDE AND UNBECOMING BEHAVIOUR TO CONSUMERS, WE ARE BEING VIOLATED HERE.
