After 20 years of traveling, I finally left my Garmin attached to the windshield of the rental car as I raced to catch my flight. Within 20 minutes of leaving the Budget rental car counter, I noticed my Garmin missing and tried to call. It took me 11 calls and over 6 hours before I was able to get anyone to answer. 2 days later they said they had my Garmin and I gave them my credit card so they could ship it back. When I received it, it was only the base Garmin unit and did not have the bracket, windshield mount nor power cord with it. I called back and was told that was all they could find. ABSURD!!! It was all there on the windshield when I left the car and the car they gave me did not have a standard GPS unit in it. There was no way that they found it just like that unless the employees there decided to take what parts they wanted. I have called numerous times since and I simply get put on hold for over an hour until the phone line disconnects. I have been completely calm and mild mannered when talking with them but, they simply ignore my question because they know the answer is that their employees stole the other items. It doesn't matter that I made the mistake of leaving an item in a car. Regardless, Budget's employees should honestly send back the items instead of taking what they want. I still have yet to get any further suggestions from them so, I am writing this since it is my only way to fight back. That and I will never rent from Budget again which is about 50 car rentals per year.
