During the end of March and beginning of February 2018 I bough 50 Mobile phones from AWOK. When I received the devices, I realized that the software was loaded incorrectly. Although it is 16GB phones with 3GB ROM not one of the phones are able to download whatsapp or any other application.
The devices just gave the following error: -
Phone storage is going low. Please remove some data to ensure the stability of the phone.
After this the device stop installing the application. These devices are brand new and there is no other applications on the phone.
I required AWOK to send me the correct software to load the devices correctly. I forward them all the error messages from the devices as attached and still they could not assist me. I also informed them that I took the phones to 3 different of our local cell phone suppliers and they all agreed that the software was loaded incorrectly.
AWOK however informed me to return the devices on my costs for them to get clarity from their supplier.
Please keep in mind that I already paid for these devices (50), the shipping fees as well as customs fees when I received the parcels.
However, AWOK informed me to pay the returning shipping fee as well and I did, the invoice for these costs is also attached.
Customs in UAE contacted the shipping company because they were not able to get hold of AWOK on any of the given contact numbers and we tried several times as well without any success.
This is now more than 4 weeks and the parcel is still at customs in UAE who informed me that AWOK refuse to pay the customs fee to release the parcel on their side.
I bought 50 useless and faulty mobile devices from AWOK and had to pay for customs and the returning shipping fees which came to a huge amount of money and they do not want to clear the parcel on their side.
All these costs should be carried by AWOK according the consumers protection act because of faulty and useless items that they are selling without any customer service what so ever.
This morning customs UAE contacted me again to inform me that they are in the process to return the parcel back to me in South Africa because AWOK still refuse to release the parcel or pay for the customs fee.
I lost a huge amount of money and still AWOK just carry on selling these items and doing business as normal. I need assistance in this matter as soon as possible because I will not leave this case here.
