This is a fraud school...complete waste of time. I had some family issues and had to hold off for a bit...thought I had a year and a half to complete the course. I didn't. I got a call today saying that - surprise...today is my last day to complete the course. They said they sent me an email regarding this in December. I never got any such email or I would have double-timed it to finish. So guess what, they actually have options for this...I can buy an extra month and so on...aren't they just generous. This place is horrible and only wants your money.

Also, the quizzes that they give are a freaking joke...you can have the correct answer and it will be counted wrong because you didn't use the exact words or leave a space when you weren't supposed to. YOU ARE TEACHING YOURSELF IN THIS!!!! If you are the type of person that can teach yourself new concepts, then you can fly through this...otherwise save your money and go to a school will that help you.

My advice, use a credible brick and mortar school where there is actual personal interaction.

Can't get a job. Have applied to many places. They have all said that they're not hiring right now. I contact the school and they gave me the same list. I worked hard for over a year and still cannot get a job after being done the course for 2 months. Waste of money. Do not recommend.

I attended this school and was let down. I had some family problems with deaths in my family and they were good with that. As for the rest of the course, I had zero help. I would call and get from the instructors " I can't help you!! " Google it.. I would never get phone calls or emails back to me. When I finally was at my practum the first 50 hours I received no help. Not one mark, nor an email or a Skype call. Than I had a new practium instructor that tired to help but would never really tell me what I was doing wrong, just fix this. Okay I needed help and received none. When I went to get my grades they refused to give them to me till I did a review of my experience. How is that right? So I finally finished a year and a half later to find out I missed the marks by 2%. Yes 2%, where If I got the help I needed and asked from repeatedly and never received, I would but be in the predicament I am in now. I went with this school because it said I though it was a highly interactive and helpful school. I also went to this school to have work from home as I have Cystic fibrosis and can not work in the real world as I would be compermizing my health. I am extremely let down by Canscribe and am left to somehow pay my student loans.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND that you spend your money on CANSCRIBE courses. The course materials cover "generalities" and not what you really need to know in order to perform medical transcriptions. In order to do transcriptions, you have to be able to understand the WORDS. This course should TEACH YOU THE VOCABULARY, then teach you how to apply it to your craft. Learn the skill, then apply the skill. Instead of teaching what you need to know, CanScribe encourages you to learn "internet searching skills". In other words... you must teach YOURSELF, by yourself. Here's the problem... if you don't know what you are hearing, how can you look it up? They should put the focus on teaching the vocabulary, then perfecting your typing skills. I am getting between 90-100% on nearly all my Chapter tests, but I feel like putting my fist through my monitor when I have to complete a transcription on subject matter that I have not been taught (complete a chapter on the Integumentary System, and do transcriptions on Reproductive/Genitourinary or Sensory, which are not covered until several chapters later). Also... the practice transcriptions are of horrible quality and should not be used for teaching. Some appear to "sped-up" or warped, causing great difficulty distinguishing one word from the next. If you listen to them at 1/4 speed, you can almost hear what they are saying. There is no possible way that they were dictated at that speed. It is not a very good teaching technique to frustrate the fuzz out of a student. If I had only found this out before I put my money down, I NEVER would have signed up with CANSCRIBE.
