INFORMING THE PUBLIC! I have been a sitter with care.com since 2016 with over 16 five-star reviews gained over the years. I have never had any reports filed against me as a sitter nor filed any complaints against anyone since joining care.com. I recently encountered one parent who we disagreed on the sitting event so I tried to reach out to care.com so they could be informed of our conflict and advise me going forward. The conflict had nothing to do with the care I provided but was surrounded around my son eating her food! (Popcorn, chips and soda). I even refunded the parents money even though at best it was a misunderstanding. I was still harshly insulted and harassed by the parent long after the sitting ended and money was refunded. My care.com profile was terminated by my care.com “family” after I filed my first harassment complaint (first complaint of any kind) against these parents. I'm not upset with the parent who probably filed a complaint as well but im upset with care.com because they decided to terminate my sitter profile without warning, without even speaking to me to substantiate any claims, and regardless of my profile showing "top sitter recommended in your area" . All of my 16 reviews have been five-stars, which all substantiate my reputation as a good sitter over the years but that didn't matter. Care.com DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to protect me as a sitter but terminated me for a harassment report!
