charged $208.75

I made a reservation which I thought was the Holiday Inn Site. After making the reservation they tacked on 50 dollars more than I agreed to I then realized this was not a Holiday Inn website. I immediately called and canceled and that I was charged more than agreed..The person working the phone said it was a done deal. How is this even legal?
