CCI*HOTEL@GETAROOM
On June 24, 2023, I went online to access the Oxford Hampton Inn Website and inquire about the cost of a 10-day room reservation. I do not use 3rd party discounters. To my dismay, I came to learn that I was on a mockup of Hampton Inn's Oxford Maines website. It was designed to look and operate like the authentic Hampton Inn website. Assuming I was on the authentic Hampton Inn website, I input in my dates and selected a room, just like you will do on the Hampton Inn website, I was informed that my choice of hotel rooms would cost $171/night. Great! The only option I was given to continue to investigate the price and terms was to click on a button that said, "Make a Reservation." I was shocked to find out that this click immediately debited my credit card for $ 2,699.33. Nearly $1,000 over the upfront estimate. I was informed that I would receive an email receipt. I went to my email. The first thing I discovered was that they had misrepresented the room rate. It was over $200/night. Additionally, they added $700 for never-divulged fees and only then informed me that the purchase that I did not know I was making was NON-Refundable. I canceled the reservation immediately and was sent a new email receipt reflecting a cancellation fee for the full amount of $ 2,699.33. I called Hampton Inn in Oxford, Maine, to let them know about this fraudster 3rd party and that I had canceled the reservation. While they were caring and apologized, they explained that I was dealing with Priceline based on the phone number they had for the reservation. I immediately disputed the charges with Citi Bank Visa, claiming fraud or misrepresentation at best. It is the worst case of Fraud I've experienced, and today Citibank tells me this fraudster company refused to cooperate in refunding the money. They lied about the room rate, did not reveal hidden fees, and only informed me that all sales are non-refundable on the receipt. I can see why I found so many claims of Fraud against Priceline. I went back on their website and saw that you must go through over a dozen pages to find the disclaimer that they are not the actual Hampton Inn in Oxford but some 3rd party company using a different name that hides the fact that they are a Priceline. If the only button you can click on to move forward with your price and terms inquiry is the "Make a Reservation" button, most people won't assume they are committing to a purchase. I never would have even inquired to make a non-refundable reservation well in advance of visiting my 98-year-old mother for her birthday.

FRAUD
On February 28th, 2020 Matt Tedder was in Atlanta, CA on business and while attempting to check-in Matt was informed the Omni Atlanta Hotel was booked; this is where reservations were made with Getaroom.com. Unfortunately, the hotel was over booked. While at the check-in desk Matt made reservations through the getaroom.com website via his cell phone in which the rooms were “paid in full” in advance; a reservation confirmation number was received; #R19Q271440. The hotel agent stated there is still no room even though the agent was shown a reservation confirmation from getaroom.com. Matt immediately called the getaroom.com customer service and asked why he has a reservation confirmation when there is no reservation. The customer service representative asked for the number of the hotel front desk. Matt waited with the hotel agent and no call ever came in. Matt called the customer service agent with getaroom.com and said he would call again and placed Matt on hold. Again no call came through. Matt immediately asked for a refund and was told they are unable to do this based on their refund policy. The hotel reservations were just made and there was no availability so the refund should have been processed. Matt called Citi Bank to dispute the charges and was given a temporary credit for the full amount of $1,170.46. Recently Matt received a letter from Citi Bank stating he will be responsible for the charges based on getaroom.com’s policy. Their policy is for cancellations and/or no shows which does not apply to their fraudulent reservations where the hotel is booked. The documents sent to Citi Bank by getaroom.com, dba CCI Hotel, is unreadable in a very small font.
A full fraud complaint has been filed with the Federal Trade Commission on this charge and to look into the fraudulent activities of the company. The company website is getaroom.com but the charges show up as CCI Hotel. A request has also been made with the Federal Trade Commission to take down the getaroom.com website to prevent other consumers from fraudulent activities associated with getaroom.com.

Fraud
I assumed that I was on the Hampton Inn website making a reservation directly with them. Their logo was on the site, everything about the site gave the impression that I ws dealing directly with Hilton/Hampton Inn.
I made reservation for an event later this year. Once I realized my error, 3 days later, I called to cancel because of the intentional misleading information and over charge. I never lost my temper, yelled, threatened or swore. I was told their cancellation policy was in-line with the hotels policy at the time of the reservation. When I informed them that the hotel allows for cancellations up to 48 hours priorto scheduled check in, they changed their story and denied ever making such claim. I was put on hold three times and hung up on three times while witing for a "supervisor, who was always handling another "escalated call".
This company intentionally misleads consumers into believing they are dealing directly with the hotel, they over charge, and they change policy as they are caught in lies.

getaroom.com
AVOID GETAROOM.COM and AGODA.COM (they're the same company).
"Free Cancelation" is only for cancellations. They will not modify bookings for any reason at any time, but they conveniently neglect to tell you that at time of booking. They reluctantly put me on hold when I requested a supervisor confirm this information. No one ever came back.
They make money by misleading customers. It's an unecessary and short-sighted policy. I guess they have so much business they don't care about losing a few thousand of us who won't tolerate their service level.

Fraud
Like many others I was duped by this company as their number was listed when I searched Embassy Suites in Troy Michigan to make a last minute hotel reservation for 3 nights. Rep never identified themself as a third party. I said I had a corporate rate through my company. She put me on hold then came back and said she had a better rate than that for my stay period. Quoted $109 a night for 3 nights plus other "charges of some sort" I figured this was the obligatory taxes you pay in most cities. When I check out of the hotel the portfolio showed total stay costed $302.56. Then when I checked my credit card, CCI Hotel charged me $456.59! I called the hotel and they informed me I used a 3rd party website, and they did not charge my card. Called CCI and got disconnected. Called Capital One to dispute. The agent and I called the company. Clearly a boiler room scam operation. Ended up getting refunded $137 for their "fees". Still overpaid a tad but not to the extent they tried to rip me off for. I will be much more careful going forward. Make sure you talk directly with the hotel.

Fraud
I thought I was booking a room through Hampton l, someone, I ended up in a scale where I got double charged. Called 1 (800) 327-1200 and spent 40-min on hold. An agent would always answer my call, but I would get transferred to a dead end.
After yelling at the operator, she advised she would contact customer service and call me back. She called back and once again, I was put on hold within 10-second.
Avoid!!!
