I live in Charlottesville, Va. I was making a reservation at Aloft Hotel in Columbus, OH with a special group rate for the one weekend. I made the reservation on December 14, 2018 for the dates January 11, 12, 13, 2019. My credit card had a charge of $305.58 on that day. I assumed that was prepayment. When I checked into the hotel, the clerk said she needed my credit card for incidentals. When I checked out, I was charged the full amount. When I said I had prepaid, he said there was no record of prepayment. The charge on the credit card was to CCI* Hotel Res with a phone number. I called that phone number, but got a recording saying there was no such number. So I called the number on the CCI* Hotel Res web page, and there was no way to get customer service. I should not have to pay the amount on my credit card. I have placed a call to the credit card company to protest the payment.
