Speed Issues
Having same issue with slow internet at night. Around 7 pm or so the internet speed slows down so much it is impossible to do any video streaming. In our area the max speed we can get is only 10 Mbs so much of a slow down is major. I have contacted Centurylink 2 times with this issue and they just tell me my connection is fine. I checked with a couple other neighbors and they are also having the same issue. This just started happening in the last couple weeks.

Slow internet service after 7pm
I came to this site to see if i was right!. And Yupp!.. i am..
I normally worked alot of hours day and night and my husband would often complain about the slow service, buffering with Netflix, firestick and his game on his ipad. He had an annoying habit, of telling me , we could only use one thing at a time, so if I wanted to watch the firestick , he couldn't play his game, and vice versa.
I go to school on line and actually didnt notice until yesterday when i had a full day off, i had the television on the firestick . I was using my desktop amd laptop computers and DID NOT HAVE ONE PROBLEM!.. when my husband came home from work around 7pm , I told him , how good the internet was trying to prove we could use more then one electronic device at a time. And low and behold the TV began to buffer just as it had been doing for him at night so here we are day 2 I'm up with the TV playing fine and my computer playing fine so I decided to Google why does my internet slow down at night and came across this site to see many are complaining about the same thing I don't know what CenturyLink is doing however I hope and pray that they would fix this situation it is not fair that we pay our hard-earned money for internet service that we don't use during Day hours and when we're home at night are unable to enjoy the satisfaction of it.

When CenturyLink comes out and "tests" our speed on THEIR site with THEIR equipment (4 times now), it's fine - supposedly 40 MBPS.
But any other speed test site gives extremely erratic results - from single digits up to 34 MBPS.
We've tried other modems, and other computers connected directly to CenturyLink's service entrance, using ethernet cable.
We've shown this to the repairman, and he has no explanation.

same problem at 10 or 11 at night
I also have these problems at the same time every night but not just me my sister does as well 100 or 11 pm you can count out streaming any videos. i believe they are throttling the internet to control usage I don't know why, but that's what I think. Not happy only had this service about two months but my sister has had them about a year and the problem has been consistent with hers for the whole year and about the same exact time every night and I'm no slouch with Internet problems, I'm in CCNA and CCIE classes so ????? Which I have 95 average in all my classes!!! I can diagnose a bad modem, router, wiring or interference and virus problems none of those are whats slowing the speed down. .23 tonight really I pay for 10.

Internet slows down at 11:00 pm
I have to work nights. I can access internet all day, evening...at 11:00 or so I can't do anything without at 1990 dial up speed rate. I have to change servers. Ugh - Comcast. Hopefully Linxure will serve the area.
