Chartwells is the worst company ever they don't care about their employees and they certainly don't care about children. I am a employee through Chartwells and I work at one of the elementary schools in Hudson WI certain Chartwells employees don't care about children. At the school I work at this Chartwells employee was working today 9/22/23 was working around children with a bad cold this employee should have known better and should not have come into work with a bad cold handling food and working around children. If these children end up sick all because of this Chartwells employee I hope that this employee gets fired and loses her job. I contacted the St. Croix county department of health and they were very unhappy with what I told them about this employee working sick around children anyone with common sense knows that you should not go into work sick and you should stay home until you get better. Because when I spoke with a Chartwells supervisor she acted like she could care less if this employee was working around children when she was sick Chartwells has no business working around in schools if this is the way they are going to be. Because it's so irresponsible working around food and children when your sick. Another complaint I have about the Chartwells company is that if payroll messes up on your paychecks they make the employee pay for it and they will take your next paycheck away from you and you will not see it at all. I fell like this is total bs and very unfair because why should I have to suffer all because Chartwells payroll messed up on my paycheck. This goes to show you that Chartwells is nothing but a bunch of money grubbing selfish greedy sobs they don't care about children and their employees at all. Chartwells is nothing but a bunch of woke Marxists communists sobs. Chartwells go woke go broke. Chartwells is no better than Disney and Bud light and Target.

the food is bad for the children its either soggy dry expired or its too much and they throw out the food i recommend to minimize the food and ask the children what they would like and they should make proper meals instead of microwave food.

Chartwells was just recently switched over to as the food provider on campus here at the University of Wisconsin Green Bay. Overall the food is not fantastic and has some serious issues but how high of standards can one have of cafeteria food? The biggest problem and subject of my complaint is due to the hygiene and cleanliness of the workers. On many occasions I have seen workers handling dirty door knobs and cashier registers then engage in direct bare handed contact with food. I know for a fact that UWGB Chartwells does NOT have a bare handed contact policy in place and people are beginning to get sick. For the benefit of all of the students who eat and pay thousands of dollars in meal plans, please institute better hygienic practices and do your best to prevent the spread of illness.

I noticed the same employee many times not wearing gloves, handling door knobs and then directly handling french fries and other food items in the kitchen with bare hands without washing. I know for a fact that my school's Chartwells does not have a bare hand contact policy in place so this is unacceptable. Would highly recommend training all the staff on proper glove care especially since cold season has arrived.

This food is disgusting. ABSOLUTELY a violation to my taste buds and digestive system. There should be no reason why I still hear the cries of the uncooked chicken drowned in sauce. The rice, how can you go wrong with rice? This company makes tofu look bad and lets not talk about the drink of bitter water with a slice of lemon and no sugar they call lemonade. This is a disgrace. An abomination to all food lovers. This needs to be stopped. Also, how do you not know how to cook potatoes?? I should not have to eat a dry ass potato that tastes like it should have been mashed 4 months ago, and then assault my teeth with a rock hard potato that has never seen a heat source in its life. There is definitely something not right about chartwells. They fired someone with a disability because another employee hit her in the face with a pan, she retaliated and she got fired the other person didn't. How cool is that? I sure hope someone goes public about how these employees are treated.

I work for chartwell in a school i am the chef i cook for 250 kids my wife and i had littler baby 2 month ago .
so now i dont work there 5 days i work 3 days but in this 3 days i do everything like cook managed staff stock take order fook lots of stres and responsibilities in november i had 2 week of perteneti i been told i will get payed for it and they just turn and told me iam not now so for the rest of 2 week i did not get a singel peni been told brcouse of spred over it turns i own them monye i dont get that at all just befor xmas not a singel peni. I don't know if it matters if I post here or to the next place or site I will go. I am a very dissatisfied employee with the "new things going on in the kitchen". Today I was told to go prep the stuff for deli out in front to carry the noisy food chopper and tomato slicer to the front of the house and prep my stuff!!! Never ever in the 3 years of being there have I done that. But because Nikki, Brian and Russ were gone I had an ego-minded supervisor that is friends with another employees dad and doesn't cares that she does nothing her whole shift and maybe would have had to made a sandwich or 2 that I was suppose to change the schedule that I have worked the last year! You can ask Annette, Nikki, Brian, Deidra my day goes from 8-1100 I get stuff prepped pull bread etc. from 1100-1245ish 100 I work the deli for the next 30 minutes I go to lunch! After lunch I never go back out front I stay in the back until 4 pm!!! Today at worrrrk out front was Annette, Aerial, Deidra, Joyce, Lisa, Sebastion was there Eddie, Joe, Sussie, Kevin oooh and Mike was there too but I guess he is a "kitcchen supervisor now so he sits outside and smokes most of his shifts!!!!

My child refuses to eat your lunches. We are a low income family and have no choice but to count on the hot lunch program you provide. My daughter has found bugs in her food and found your lunches inedible. Something must be done about this. Would you eat your food with bugs in it? This menue is bottom of the barrel. Most of the children would rather starve then eat what this Company provides as a "healthy lunch". This must change. What ever happened to no child goes hungry??

One employee is very rude and disrespectful! She refuses to give certain children what they request and has told students that she hates them.

On several occasions, the taco meat has had finger nails in it. Gross!!
The manager responded to the situations by stating they don't cook the food there and it comes precooked in a bag and that it must've come that way. Again, Gross!!

The children need to feel that they are getting a nutritious lunch without receiving attitude or being disrespected.
These children are our future and shouldn't have to be concerned about the 30 minutes they receive for lunch everyday.
