Our realtor when buying home called her friend at Chesapeake inspection services in Salisbury Maryland. To >inspect our home before we bought it. He gave us a good inspection reporrr and assured us house was safe, but did not mention the roof was bad and the house would sink. I bought a house 2 years ago. our realtor was remax. Pam price at remax called her good friend at Chesapeake inspection to come to the inspection on house prior to us buying and moving in. When Chesapeake inspection gave the all clear, we bought it knowing a professional cleared it. His report of roof was all good except few nails that needed be knocked down. 3 weeks into home water gushed in and we had someone come look at roof and it was no good, with 3 layers of shingles. We had to replace the whole roof. In his inspection report he gave the ok of the crawl space under home with exception of few loose insulation and wires on ground. Weeks after moving in we noticed floor dropping. We contacted our insurance company and they sent out a insurance Adjuster. That insurance Adjuster could not believe that Chesapeake inspection passed the house as it has no footers under house to keep the bricks up. Thier are blocks facing wrong way and house is sinking. We asked Chesapeake inspection to come out and rebook at it. He himself seen the damage , asked me what I would like him to do, and all I said was to put footers under and reblock . His response was he was going to go home and make some phone calls leading us to believe he was going to do the right thing. Then 5 days goes by and my wife calls him, he tells us he is not going to fix the issues. We bought this house thinking it was safe for our children to grow up in. In fact we still owe 140,000 on this home and before long I feel it will be condemned if nothing is done. I said nothing to Chesapeake inspection when roof needed to be fixed and total cost was well over 10 grand. But with unstable floors and now ceiling disconnecting from interior walls I am here to file this report. We ask of Chesapeake inspection to make our house as safe as it sounded on our inspection papers. I really feel like realtor and Chesapeake worked together to push this house thru for quick sale not caring about the future of the home and not caring about safety of our family. The Insurance Adjuster said thier is no way that Chesapeake inspection did not see these things. Chesapeake inspection said they did not look to see if it had footers but the inspector who came out said you could not miss that it did not. I went under house to take a look at what he approved and know nothing about a foundation. But soon as i went under first thing i seen was jack stands holding up a peice of 4x4 that is holding up a section of house. You dont have to be a inspector to know that the house is not safe. SHAME ON YOU CHESAPEAKE INSPECTION SERVICES. roof was well over 10 grand and to get foundation fixed at least 5,000. I do believe that they are responsible and should feet foundation.
