Missing money

Citi bank abruptly closed my account without warning 5 months ago I had around 2200$ in it I went to another branch again yesterday I was put on phone with someone who said it was determined I’m not getting my money back any of it and the banker said about 187$ in their now I have reached out to everyone idk what to do anymore I’m scared at this point that was my tax return money I have 2 small kids. What kind of bank is this?
