I’ve had the shoes for 5 years wore them to a get together the heels totally fell apart so embarrassing 😡

Utterly disappointed at Clarks shoes in Stratford upon Avon. My father-in-law - having been diagnosed with dementia in early 2016 - wanted to buy / stock up on the things he "swore by" (his words) before he forgot too bad to remember and bought a new pair of his much loved Clarks shoes for when his old ones wore out... (he literally wore the old ones until they fell of his feet). Well I urged him a while ago when I visited him to throw the old ones out and wear the new ones - but upon putting the new pair one this happened!!! The top shoe COMPLETELY CAME AWAY from the sole!! I mean completely. As you can see they have never been worn - he kept them in a cardboard shoe box under the bed since purchasing.

My mother went to the store to return them and was only offered a £10 gift card towards a new pair!! This is criminal, and working in the retail/clothing sector as I do - this is a disgrace. This rubber sole should NOT perish in this way and this is obviously a fault with the shoe not (as your HQ customer services advised) a fault with my father having not worn them immediately!! I have pair of vintage Dunlop rubber wellies that I bought in a charity shop (new and still in the box) that are older than the hills and are perfectly fine. Also I wish to point out that my mother mentioned the saleswoman in Stratford upon seeing this issue, mentioned she had seen this before!! Thus I don't feel this is a storage issue but a rubber batch issue of these model / shoe, and I will be taking this further with consumer rights ombudsmen if they are not completely replaced.

He was so upset he wouldn't let me take them home with me without keeping the laces as he said he could use them at least (hence photos with no laces). This really disgusts and saddens me. He has bought / worn Clarks shoes his whole life... and this is how a loyal customer is treated.

Just got these shoes out of my wardrobe they are still in the original box as I have kept them for best.
I have only worn them a couple of times but on seeing them today the sole has become a sticky mess.
The Uppers are perfect. This is the second pair that I have had to dispose of at a cost of around £140.

So therefore PLEASE TELL ANYONE YOU CAN DO NOT BUY CLARKS SHOES THEY ARE RUBBISH AND NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE.
and I certainly will not be purchasing again.
