One week after purchase, ( after 3 days light wear in the office) my clarkes shoes were scuffing. I took them back to the shop who stated they would take no responsibility and told me to polish them. I wrote to clarkes and sent on photos. Clarkes wrote back, invited me to post them from Ireland to England, but they didn't know if they would do anything about it as they say their shoes are well tested before going on sale. And they hoped I would continue to buy clarkes in the future! I didn't post them as I didn't want to throw good money after bad , posting shoes abroad, especially when there is a clarkes shoe shop in my town. 10 weeks on and the shoes are now peeling. I rang the shop who asked me did I polish them. I told them yes as that is what they told me to do. They said 'oh we find some polishes make shoes peel' ! Well done clarkes, excellent customer service there. I'll be sure to buy your expensive shoes in the future, in the hope they don't scuff and peel after a few days or weeks , and sure if they do I'll know you take great responsibility for the expensive shoes you sell, and greatly value your customers and I can rely on your great customer service!

Obviously I haven't still got the receipt , I called the shop to which I was told without the receipt they could not help me.
I understand this , but am really not impressed as I would expect to get longer out if a pair if shoes that I paid so much money for
