My mother and I boarded the taxi at NUH before 7 pm. It was raining at the time.
I need to use a wheelchair to get around. My mother showed the driver how to put the wheelchair in the boot and the ride began. As it was peak hour and raining heavily, there was a traffic jam everywhere.

That is why we reached our destination at about 7.30 pm.
Our particular HDB flat does not have a shelter.
ALL other taxi drivers from all other taxi companies hel[p us all the way.
My mother is 88 years old and needs help. I am on a wheelchair so in the very least I need for the wheelchair to be taken out of the boot and brought to me and opened out so that I can sit on it.

All this did not happen on the 10th of October!

We were so shocked when this taxi driver just sat in the car, just unlocked the boot from inside and told us to leave- all after collecting a fare of over $30.
This had never happened to us in our lives ... my mother is 88 and I am 59 years old.

So I told him to help us as it was raining.
He angrily said that his shirt will get wet and so he refused to get down. Not for the wheelchair and definitely not to provide an umbrella to shelter us from the rain which many other taxi drivers try to do.

He kept shouting at us to get out and when we did not he drove the taxi far away from our block 347 to block 351 and told us to alight and walk all the way home.
Is this the service us handicapped people and the elderly have to be treated these days?
If it rains just get wet even though we have already paid a lot of money to take the taxi home???

What is this country coming to?

Next thing that happened is that he shouted at me and defied me to Complaint about him, he said it was no problem!!!
Is that true?

So drivers like him just get through and the good ones never get the praises.
From now on I will write in the praise the good drivers too.

Please help me to process this complaint - it is a serious complaint that would not put our country in a good light if this happened to foreigner or PR.
Why should we tolerate this kind of rude behaviour towards anyone especially when no one else has done anything to provoke??

Please take this seriously and prevent him from driving again.
He may be only part-time driver but that does not give him the right to bully others.

Of course, there may be one other reason for this: could be that he is racist as I am Indian.
