I cancelled my cobra through Conexis prior to 3/1/17 as this was my Medicare month. On 3/1 my checking account was debited 476.72. I immediately notified my former employer (hartford hospital ) and conexis of this error. I was assured that I would be reimbursed thus amount in thirty days. I called several times to reiterate that all was in order and was reassured that it was. On 4/1/17 Conexis attempted to debit my account for 476.17. I immediately called my bank to stop this automatic payment, which they did, then Conexis resubmitted the same amount under a slightly different name. Again I called my bank to stop this payment. I again called Conexis who called this a clerical matter and assured me that I would have a refund check by 4/10/17. Today is 4/20/17- I called Conexis to ask them where my refund is. They informed me that my account was not closed until 4/4/27. They only offered rationalizations for why this happened. I talked to a supervisor who said she will "try" to expedite this, but says she doubts that it will help. I am beyond frustrated with this company, and feel defrauded out of the use if my funds. I am very concerned that although they acknowledge that the account was in fact closed 3/1/17 , they attempted twice to debit my account in April. Had I not been watchful I would now be out nearly 1,000.00.

Failure to comply with Federal Cobra Law
I have been on COBRA since the end of May 2016 through my employer Airtron, Inc who is owned by Direct Energy. Centrica (UK Based Company) owns Direct Energy. They us a company called Conexis to administer COBRA payments. I have always paid my COBRA payments weeks in advance of the due date. Direct Energy (Centrica) changed from Blue Cross and Blue Shield to United Healthy Care January 1, 2017. The caused the CVS Caremark to be terminated and then it needed to be reinstated. To date my CVS Caremark has yet to be reinstated.
I have repeadedly faxed and called Conexis and CVS Caremark. Conexis always says that they have notified Caremark however Caremark has yet to receive notification other than the January 4th cancellation of the old program.
To make it more difficult in dealing with Conexis by phone, they must use an out of the country call center where English is a second language and the people are difficult to understand. Further most calls seem to have a very poor phone connection and you often can only hear every other word.
